Fabulous views over Udaipur and the Aravali range. Take cash for tickets !
This Monsoon palace offers one of the best sunset views over Udaipur. You need to stop and purchase entry tickets at the bottom of the hill and proceed by vehicle up an incredible zig zagging mountain road ( preferably by two or four wheel vehicle!). TAKE CASH to pay for your entry as payment options do not include international cards. The palace itself is not in tip top condition but the views back over the city and westwards over the Aravali range are breathtaking. Well worth the ticket price and trip and would highly recommend this is part of your itinerary. Watch out for cheeky monkeys grabbing food around the car park area. Toilet facilities are terrible for such a prominent tourist site. There are lots of restaurant options around the entrance to the Monsoon palace and one restaurant at the palace itself which we did not try.

Ideal for Sunset and Panaromic Views of City
The fort was built in 1884 AD by Maharana Sajjan Singh to enjoy the Monsoons and hence also known as Monsoon Palace. Now it comes under forest department. Entry Ticket is 155 bucks and extra 106 bucks for the Jeep in case you don’t have personal vehicle. This fort is ideal to witness scenic sunsets and panoramic views of the city.

A good place for sunset view
The views of the surrounding areas should be great from this place but the day we visited it was was quite hazy. The palace itself does not offer much and is quite underwhelming. The main attraction is the view. The garden also provides bit of a breathing space if one can avoid the selfie crowd. There is a restaurant at the entrance of the palace but we didn't try their food. The entry fee is INR 300 per car and INR 155 per person if you are Indian. We saw a number of gray langurs roaming around the garden but they did not disturb the tourists. Can not call it a must visit place but we found it quite nice.

    Major tourist attraction place
Will rate Mysore Palace in the top followed by this palace. A guide is a must to go through the entire palace, will take two hours to complete the entire palace trip. The best palace amoung the various places in Udaipur.

    All hype but no substance.
Total waste of time. Being in Udaipur have heard lots about this palace and decided to visit it today. Nothing fancy about this palace, not looked after well property. Except for views of city from top, nothing great about this place. All hype but no substance.

Beat views of Udaipur from here.
Lovely palace on top of the mountain about 30 mins from the city by car. Fabulous views of the lakes, palaces, city and the surrounding mountains. There isn't too much to see in the palace inside but worth visiting just for the views of Udaipur from there.

    Lovely at sunset
This ‘palace’ is a bit of an old ruin but still interesting to see - it was built for the royal family but decommissioned straight away as they couldn’t pump water up there. The most impressive things are the views of the city, and the lovely sunset view you get. Worth a trip up. It does cost you for entry for your taxi / car to drive you up - ₹ 300. But although that seems steep, it’s a lovely way to spend an hour or so in the evening.

    Great views
The view from the top is marvellous. I am glad I went. The ticketing is confusing and I think it’s quite pricy. You have to get an approved vehicle up about 109rps Lovely windy rd great views. I couldn’t work out how to get down without spending 500rps on a taxi. The palace isn’t very exciting. But the views are really breathtaking. It’s easy to get stressy about the taxi and price but if you are a foreign tourist getting muddled about the transport only cost me an extra £5 so not really much to moan about. There is a busy cafe at the top.

We had a very good experience over here it was an amazing evening I would like to recommend everyone should come
We had gone to see the Sangrah Fort. We liked it the most. The whole city is visible from here. It was a very good experience. You can also buy something from here or you can bring something to eat in advance or you will get tea, coffee and sandwiches here as well.

An great place to be specifically in monsoon . One can see and guess the monsoon status from the roof top balcony.. Wildlife awareness is added for the great zing. Good for knowledge of all. Caution: lots of Langurs so be careful as soon as you park your vehicle. They are not inside the palace at all.

Building is in a poor state, there is nothing interesting to see except the view of udaipur, which is not worth the 350 pp fee plus 220 per car to enter. About 3-4km before it you will reach the gate to pay these fees. Our Uber driver refused to take us past here and ended the trip even though our trip included up the hill. He told us to pay him 350 rupees to take us up the hill and back, there is not much other choice if you are left there it would be a very long walk. I imagine this is not the first time it happened as I saw another group of tourists arguing with their driver, if you are a clear foreigner make sure you arrange the full way!!

However there is nothing to see there we spent about 10 minutes

I planned my itenary to visit this palace. We reached here, but the feedback that we got from the locals is that this place is worth only during Monsoon. Infact this was the monsoon capital of the king, as the king visited this only during rainy season. Hence the name Monsoon palace

During other seasons, there is no point going to the top. It will be just like any other place. The views you get from Karni mataji or Kumbhalgarh fort is the same. Hence you can give a miss.

Once you reach the ticket window, there is 7km trek. Vehicles can go, but 3 wheelers are not allowed to go on the top. You have to take a 4 wheeler (another ~Rs 500)

Since we already came here, instead we went to the Sajjangarh zoo. See my review to know in details about the zoo.

Being at the top of the hill overlooking the city, you get beautifully views of the city and both the lakes. We visited the palace in the morning but have read a lot of reviews about amazing views during sunset.
The palace itself doesn’t really have anything left to see. There just a few things made to promote wildlife tourism of Rajasthan.
But the views are amazing and if you have time, you must visit.
The road leading to the palace has a lot of curves and steep climbs so if you are on rented bikes and not very comfortable driving you can park you bikes at the entrance and take a ride in the cars available at the entrance at a cost.

Sajjangarh is located on top of a hill and is a spectacular sight. Most people visiting Udaipur so no visit this place. But it should be in everyones itinerary when visiting Udaipur. It gives the view of the city beneath and the lakes. The palace and its location is splendid. The whole grandeur of this palace is defined by its location.

In the evening the breeze soothes you and the fresh mountain air does wonders to calm you. Definitely one must visit this.

It opens at 9 AM in the morning and the entry closes at 5.30 PM in winters and 6 PM in summers.

Entry to the fort is slightly expensive at 70 per person, plus extra charges for the vehicle you're traveling in. You are basically paying for a few photos that you're going to click from top. The palace is under renovation and only the ground floor is open to access. Overall, best avoided. The sanctuary next door is worth a visit.

This is a small fort situated on the Aravalli Hills. The view from the grounds is breath taking and is absolutely worth the uphill trip.Entry fees is just Rs. 70 for Indian Citizens and Rs. 335 for foreign citizens. And it is easily accessible by two or four wheeler, although I wouldn't recommend walking up the road.

This is located near Udaipur on Banasdara peak at a height of 3100ft.
Maharaja Sajjan Singh started the construction and completed by his successor MMaharana Fateh Singh. This offers a vantage point to enjoy cloudy and rainy weather during monsoon

It’s overrated and overpriced, poorly maintained, no staff or guide. They charge 100 for an adult for the entry ticket to the museum plus vehicle parking charges. But inside the fort, there is nothing called the museum. It’s an observatory tower with a panoramic view of Udaipur. They have put up few copy of the original paintings of the rulers and few wax pieces of animals found in the biological park, which is on the way to this palace. It was raining heavily on the day we visited and the whole area was clogged and filled with water, overall giving a very dirty impression. The walls need to be painted and looked after. I guess it’s more of a neglected fort making money. The route to the palace is steep, narrow and dangerous. You need to be very careful while driving up to the top and coming down vice versa.
