Great Family Resort a short Distance from Taos

If the super large resorts like Taos are too much - this is a great family oriented resort with fun runs, good service and food and easy parking.

Ive always wanted to go here, I was a little disappointed. The hotel seems almost run down and old. Parking is sparse. The snow was sparse and it didn't seem like they were making more, prices were high on everything. I got 3 pictures of my kids and it was 80$... I did enjoy the pizza from the food court.... More

We stayed in Taos at the Sage Brush Inn and drove approximately 45 minutes to the ski resort. We dropped our children at ski school and headed off to the tubing hill. After a few races on the tubing hill my husband headed off to the lodge and I headed up the mountain to ski. The trails were nice and... More

We spent this week at Angel Fire resort! Had a wonderful family vacation! Not a five star hotel but perfect for skiing and sleeping at night! There are several places to eat in and around the hotel. We enjoyed family time in the lobby at one of the tables. Played cards and games with a relaxing fire nearby! Our kids... More

Hey, Momklaus! Thank you for your review! We are delighted that your family had such a great time. We have been transitioning to a new reservation software system and certainly had our challenges this season! We have heard our Guests loud and clear concerning their frustrations in calling or going on line to make reservations, particularly for ski school and... More

We visited during spring break and the resort was clearly at maximum capacity. We found the staff to be slightly overwhelmed but still very helpful. Our three kids were in ski school and had a wonderful time. By the second day our beginner 7 year old was skiing down green slopes. They were sad when it was time to leave... More

Amanda thank you for your review. I am glad your children had such a memorable time. Now that the season is almost over, I would like to "brag" a little about our Children's Ski School. Our average class size this season was 3.8. Even during our busiest time during Christmas and Spring break our average class size was 5. We... More

We are a family of five with three kids ranging from 8 to 13. We tried to book two private lessons, one for the parents and one for the three kids, but the school said they would not put the three kids together because their instructors could not handle three kids. I explained that the kids had had lessons together... More

Thank you for your review. I am responding as I am the Ski School Director. As a policy we do try to split up families by age and ability and do not sell privates to groups over 5 people. Unlike some ski areas we do not sell "Family Privates" either as we feel they sound good in a brochure but... More

The snow was not great and the customer service was terrible. I'd recommend Ski Valley or Red River.

Thank you for your review, Ashley. Spring time conditions prevail in March especially in the southern rockies where folks in New Mexico and Colorado are used to variable conditions. You will find that the case in all southern resorts this time of year and experience skiers expect that. We do however, pride ourselves on our Customer Service and I am... More

It was first time to ski or to be at a ski resort. Everyone was kind we had a great experience, learning and playing on the slopes. We plan to return for the relaxed atmosphere and the enjoyable time.

We went to Angel Fire between Christmas and New Year's. We didn't go skiing there but we did go tubing. We got our tickets at the base. We were assigned a time when our tickets will be valid. My fiancés family has had a house in Angel Fire for 11+ years so I've been coming here regularly for some time. While we've never had to stay in the actual resort, we've come to the restaurant and to the slopes to hike and to ski (depending upon the time of year). Service has always been top-notch.
