Overlander India gives you an opportunity to experience an authentic rural adventure. We take you off-road, deep into the wilderness to visit and interact with local rural communities and tribes and see the abundant wildlife and bird life the region has to offer.

The experience is not complete without a rural picnic lunch where you get a chance to sample local cuisine. A village visit completes your outing with an age old Rajasthani ceremony.

You can also visit the Overlander Campsite, set in the midst of total wilderness for an "Africa" like experience.

My family and I had a wonderful and unforgettable private safari experience with Overlander India. Uday and Ajit welcomed us so warmly. The landscape is great, we discovered villages and the inhabitants and we could also see many animals. The indian lunch was just delicious and the home and hand made bread excellent. I truly recommend this experience to discover... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our safari with Uday. He is the owner of Overlander and takes you out on personal tour of the countryside. You visit 2 unique families and get to interact with them and learn about their life style. And then you have a terrific lunch with food prepared from Uday's garden. It was deliciously Indian. I would recommend this... More

We had a memorable day trip with Uday (uday@overlanderindia.com) visiting a series of villages near Rohet where we were staying. He is an interesting and very knowledgeable guy, part of the family that owns Rohet Garh (but separate from the tours they offer) and elected as a leader of five local villages. So he is known wherever we went and... More

Ajit, you made it the perfect morning for all my friends. A highly recommended outing for those looking for a rural experience, an off road drive, a simple yet specially prepared meal, great hospitality and a wonderful host - Ajit Rana. We were a group of 18 women friends and we shall surely remember our experience with Overlander India.

We loved the forts, palaces and history, but the trip into the countryside and desert was a welcome change. The jeep safari into rural areas with Uday was a real off-road trip through scrubby semi-desert, driven fast and pretty exciting. Lots of cranes which have flown over the Himalayas for the winter were round a small lake, low after the... More

I made a visit to this camp in November of last year with some friends. Right from the time we were fetched and went on the wild life sight seeing tour until reaching the camp site, the tour guide (now a dear friend) was very knowledgeable about the local culture and surroundings. We were shown across different settings of an... More

This tour of the rural region beyond Jodhpur was one of the highlights of my India trip. The guide was passionate, well-informed, and articulate about the terrain and its flora & fauna, the people who still flourish there (primarily the fascinating Bishnois), and Rajasthan history & lore. Even Indian politics & mores if you want to delve therein. I don't... More

It sure is the ultimate rural experience in India ! Words cannot express what a memorable, exhilarating and humbling time I have had on the Jodhpur leg of my journey in Rajasthan. I've been on a safari, visited local villages, interacted with the locals and had hot bajra rotis prepared by them, attended an opium ceremony, hiked a hill, camped... More

Nearly a full day visit , sighting a great variety of bird and wildlife . Visit to a local farming family explaining how life works in the country. A visit to a normal country household and see how food is prepared . This followed by an excellent lunch and on the way home a stop a traditional opium ceremony. Excellent... More
