    An evening escape in Jaisalmer
An artificial lake in Jaisalmer that offers boating, light show in the evening and a local market nearby. The waiting time for the boats in quite long though. The tickets are also expensive.

They need to improve Musical fountain show
Gadisar Lake in Jaisalmer exudes historical charm with its ancient architecture and unique boat rides. The intricate chattris and temples add cultural richness, creating a captivating atmosphere. However, the lake can get crowded, affecting the peaceful ambiance, and maintenance of some structures could enhance the overall experience.

Awesome Tourist Point for Sunset Views
This is a picturesque lake in an otherwise barren desert landscape. The northern side has a monumental gate that seems to be the most popular spot, where there's boating trips. The gate itself is beautiful, sympathetic to the Rajasthani architecture of the city. After a quick visit on this side, I moved to the eastern side to get a better view of the sunset, which was awesome.

Think in advance if it's worthy to stop by here for few photos
I don't think that this stop is necessary or that it's that worthy. At the same time, it's one of the few things that you can do in Jaisalmer. Prepare for the fact that everyone local at the place is prepared for you. To get to the place, you need to pass something that looks like a market for tourists. In any case, if you come to the place, you will make few nice photos. The stop if worth about 15 minutes of your time.

    Serene and Historical
We visited this sight with a guide and very early in the morning. It was the perfect decision. There were very few people around and the weather wasn’t hot yet. There is no gate or a fee so I don’t understand the 8 AM opening time. We spent some time taking many photographs and got a history lesson. It is well worth the visit. It’s easily accessible with a car.

    Enjoyable time Spent in Evening
Gadsisar Sagar lake is an artificial lake and one of the most visited spots in Jaisalmer. We visited the lake in the evening, when the place was crowded. The lake has many chhatris and shrines of hindu Gods and goddesses. We did boat ride, which was enjoyable during sun set, also witnessed light and sound show in the evening from boat itself. Several restaurant / food stalls are available nearby, option for local / souvenir shopping is also available. Paid parking is available too. Overall enjoyable time spent.

Gadisar lake in the beautiful city of Jaisalmer, was artificially built for water conservation. It is surrounded by temple shrines and ghats.

One may visit the place for a quiet and serene break. In Winters you may see migratory birds. One may enjoy boat rides as well.

Fee - no entry fee but boat rides are chargeable depending on the type of boat you pick up.

We walked to this place from patwon ki haveli, a distance of nearly 1.5 km. You may go by car, cab or auto.

Intique tourist season there will be used to do the booting different types of booting are available. From roving boat to paddle boat maximum 10 people can sit in a group bookings ticket prices are comparatively expensive. If you compare it with Lake Pichola and its experience. The nearby market of the lake is good to explore.

Lake itself is beautiful but surroundings are so dirty that one cannot stay here for more than couple of minutes.
No one else but visitors are to be blamed for the mess created due to left over alcohol bottles & empties of food packets strewn all around perimeter of the lake.
On Jaisalmer authorities part - there seems to be no effort for enforcing cleanliness. Life jackets for boating are torn, dirty & stinking.
There are much better lakes in all over Rajasthan & this one can be given a skip.

One of the fine outdoor activity /picnic spot in Jaisalmer.

By foot pathway travel in side of lake and you will enjoy the boat ride .

Best time to visit here is in morning and evening .

Ticket- Only for vehicle parking and for boat riding . For boat riding must be bargain and also must be sure that how far away ride path and how much time will ride.
You can easily visit here via cab or auto or taxi

Must Be- proper shoes or rubber footwear , water bottle , umbrella /hat .

Must visit near by historical build structure near by side area .

Too much bagger near by area so must avoid them in gentle way.

When you go to visit Gadsisar Lake, the first thing you notice is the gate of Tillan, which welcomes you to the beautiful surroundings of the lake. It is carved on rich yellow sandstone which serves as a majestic attractive gateway to Gadsisar Lake.

It is an artificial lake built by Raja Rawal Jaisal; the first ruler of Jaisalmer in the southern part of Jaisalmer and is one of the must visit landmark place when you are here. The lake was later rebuilt by Maharaja Garisisar Singh. It was once the only source of water in those days. The bank of the Gadsisar lake is surrounded by beautifully carved Chattris, Temples and Shrines. You can opt for a boat ride in the lake or just enjoy the atmosphere sitting on the banks of it. During winters, you can spot migratory birds doing the rounds of this lake as it is close to Bharatpur. We had gone in the evening and were there till the sunset. There was a long queue for the boat ride so we did not hazard into it.

The lake is close to the railway station and can be accessed through local transport.

Beautiful lake set up. Must visit if you want to sit and enjoy the view. Quite a large area hence comfortable shoes to walk will help.
There are people staying in the vicinity hence it may not be very clean. Highly recommended that this visit is done early in the morning to avoid rush. During our stay we went twice and both the Times it was around 7-7.30 am.

The lake and its surrounding structure is representative of how several sites with tourism potential are ignored or mismanaged. The approach road to the lake is full of touts and animal droppings. There isnt much to do near the lake. If short on time I'd say skip this.

Visit Gadisar lake early morning when other places are not open. View at sunrise or sunset is beautiful. If you visit in the evening don't miss puppet show at Desert Culture museum which is located nearby.

I feel like everywhere I go in Jaisalmer, the whole place looks like a gorgeous scene out of a movie or a fairytale. But this place was just on another level on that radar. It was so enchanting to see that vast lake in the desert, it almost felt like an oasis. The beauty of this is elevated by several times because of the ethnic structures, placed so elegantly in the mid of it. Just like mini islands. The perfect place for destressing oneself. Grab a book, a nice drink you like, by the water, watch the sun going down. Dip you sorrows away in this pool of happiness or row a boat through it, doesn't matter. Its magic is as lasting as for eternity.
