Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amar Sagar is a small and beautiful lake cum Oasis and is next to a 17th Century palace called the Amar Singh Palace. Maharawal Akhai Singh built this palace in honor of one of his predecessors Amar Singh. Next to the palace are pavilions with a large stairs leading down to the Amar Sagar Lake. This haveli has been constructed in the pattern of apartments. The Amar Sagar is a five story high haveli and is famous for its murals. Wherever you go in this haveli, you will notice beautiful murals painted. There are many of wells and ponds in the surrounding which have a royal air about them. There is an old Shiva temple in the complex itself. Amar Singh built this because he was supposed to be an ardent follower of Lord Shiva, a Hindu God related to destruction. Lake offers a boating service that you can take you on a boat tour. Must-Visit.

When in Jaisalmer, do visit this lake in the evening before the sunset. Rent a boat for an hour, and enjoy the sunset view and reflection in the water, its calm and beautiful. You can carry some munchies or some drinks along but please be mature enough to be discreet about it since locals will object.

The place is not clean and not maintained, as people come here for photography if you want can do that. But apart from that, there is nothing to check out here. As there is boat riding but the water is not clean.

A Clean lake for booting. There are many things to explore in and around jaisalmer. It is located around 5-6 km far from Jaisalmer city. One travelling by car from Jodhpur will cross this place before entering Jaisalmer city.

We were going to Desert camp and we visited this temple on the way. This temple has very beautiful architecture and carvings. It is situated on the banks of a lake. The lake is not very scenic as it does not have much water and the place is not very clean. But, we tend to forget everything once we are in the temple. It is that beautiful. A good place to visit in the outskirts of Jaisalmer.

The lake was all dried out when I visited in August. The Jain temple was however peaceful and un-touristed. 100 rupee charge for foreigners.

There is a famous Jain Temple at this place with the lake which is almost empty throughout the season. The temple is a good place to see as it is made up of Jaisalmeri stones with a lot of ework done by hand on it.
