good stop between Jodhpur and jaisalmer

Pokharan is a small detour from the highway but its a good stop to take to have lunch and a break in the journey.

You will find forts present in all parts of Rajasthan, and this is the fort at Pokhran. Historically the maharaja had occupied it, but today its partly a hotel and the rest is not much to see. There is one section which is like a small museum containing historical artifacts used by royalty and another part which is the surrounding... More

While the fort is not big but the caretaker there helped us click some of the best family snaps which we could have taken in the midst of a fort. Well maintained, quite a bit of history it's a small detour but we felt was worth it. The architecture is restored and well maintained which makes for great snaps

If you are travelling through Rajistan and visiting the major forts, such as the Red Fort, Amber Fort, Jaisalmer, kumbhalgarh fort etc, then you can give this one a miss. It is surrounded by markets and quite small. It is not well maintained and has no interpretive signage etc. Unless you have a specific interest in this fort or need... More

Extremely non maintained fort. Not clean at all. If you have visited other fort before this then you will cry for wasting time on this fort :(

An amazing fort from the outside. Huge and bright. Nothing much to see or do here to. Check out the Hotel and its a pretty place. A garden with a pool. order a chicken boryani and its the best you would have had in the state. Wonder how royal it would be living here for a day!

It was on out itinerary, so we stopped here. Would have spent the extra time in Jodpur. Fort is beeing slowly restaured but it really has nothing to offer.

Interesting historical building; quite small and easy to visit and not too much to see. The visit was spolit by the lack of upkeep; people had used sheltered corners as a toilet and generally it was very dusty. It just added to the historical value of Rajesthan, between Bikanerand Jaisal mer. The village looked interesting but our driver did not... More

We were on the road from Jodphur to Jaisalmer and stopped at this beautiful fort. Guided by a local who spoke good English and who showed us around explaining everything in detail. Then has a short guide of the grounds to the adjacent hotel. If you are driving the six hours between these two cities the fort makes a welcome... More
