Must have 1 full day to watch this place for history lovers. 1 should have knowledge of the place. It was told that Bhagwan Shrikrishna visited over here and also it is being told that, Kailash Temple is crafted in a single rock from top to bottom (you can actually get feel of it on visiting here). Guide can provide... More

Like most of the Ellora caves, these temples and buildings have been cut into the volcanic rock. The design, architecture and construction are wonderful. Its a pity that Aurangabad, Ellora and Ajanta are off the typical western tourist track. These are wonders that approach the Taj Mahal in beauty. Some date back into 200 BC

Been there many times. You can see for yourself the evolution of temples. The kailsh temple carved from stone is greatest of all imagination. It is not built but a carved out temple. Better to visit in rainy season to avoid scorching sun. it is better to visit during working days to avoid unscrupulous visitors.

Combine with Ajanta caves too. The ellora caves are several millenia old. Definitely take a guide, carry water too. There are nice restaurants outside the ellora cave complex.

Definitely visit the kailash structure, it is an incredibly amazing architectural wonder! The Buddhist caves are ok( Ajanta is better ). Visit the Jain caves (30-34), there is a bus service that takes you to those. Cave no. 29 is on the way which is also dedicated to Lord Shiva. Note that Ajanta and Ellora are closed one day a... Kailash temple is amazing, can spend hours admiring the architecture. As you enter , in a moment you travel many centuries behind. It is unimaginable how such a big complex could be carved out of rock. The nearby caves are good too. Try to reach early avoid harsh sun. carry a hat & sunglasses.
