Definitely come here. This is one of the must see sights in the world. Thank goodness unesco are helping to restore them. The carvings are incredible and so amazing that they have survived so intact and distinct for so long. Spend about 1-2hrs here walking around and looking at the carvings. Only 5% of them are erotic so enjoy all... More

I enjoyed walking and looking at the extraordinary craftsmanship on all of the temples. They all have the beautiful sculptures.

Walking along the platform on the North Side of the Kandariy Mahadev temple leads directly to the Devi Jagadamba temple. While the Kandariy temple is designed in such a way that circumabulation is possible inside, in Devi Jagadamba temple its not possible. The outer walls again are replete with statues and inner sanctum sanctorum has a statue of Parvati.

My wife and I visited the Devi Jagadambi temple during a tour of the UNESCO World Heritage western group of temples in Khajuraho. This is very similar, yet smaller than some of the other temples in the group, so is less crowded and takes less time to visit. Originally dedicated to Vishnu, it is in remarkably good condition and fortunately... More

This is much smaller than the magnificent Kandariya Mahadev Tenlple. lt has a cross plan with only on set of balconies, only one mandap and no inner pradakshina patha. However, the Devi Jagdambi Temple has some of the loveliest sculptures ill Khajuraho, and because of its medium height most of them are easily visible.  Apart from the normal repertoire of... More

This is part of Western Group of Temples where the Light and Sound show is organized. This along with Kandariya Mahadev Temple during Light and Sound show look stunning. From temple art perspective, it is well maintained. Worth spending some time (min 30 mins) to enjoy the temple art.

A very attractive temple from the outside even though dwarfed by the Kandariya Mahadev one. The interiors are rather plain and the main image in the sanctum appears to be a of much later origin - too stiff and plain and rather unimpressive. The plasticity of the other sculptures is missing. During navratras, worship is permitted at this temple and... More

This temple is one of the rare ones dedicated to a Goddess. It is finely decorated with carvings. As with all other temples, the beauty is in understanding the story behind the carvings.
