Very well managed temple. Walking barefoot can be a bit troublesome. There is no specific arrangement to keep your footwear, you just leave it on the sides. Also, follow the instructions carefully, you might be denied entry. You can rent/buy required clothes locally.

Stunning tower. Unfortunately as advised non Hindus are not allowed entry and we had approached from the wrong direction so ended up walking all the way round the outer wall before viewing the tower. Nice views across the Lilly pond. Lots of security watching you due to the multi millions in gold and jewels in the vaults. Felt it was ironic when seeing beggars in the nearby streets. But that is often the case with religions.

So full of energy and spiritual force. Feels blessed to visit this wholy place. very neat and clean. Take VIP darshan ticket. men have to go bare chest with dhoti and women in saree. wallets purses mobiles or any other belongings not allowed. have to be deposited in lockers. you can carry currency though.

We visited the temple during our visit to Trivandrum. It is mandatory for ladies to wear a saree or wrap around a dhoti and for men to wear a dhoti to the temple. We entered from the East gate which was lined with shops in typical local architecture with tiled roofs. The temple architecture is stunning and the corridors are lined with beautiful statues that have place for lighting diyas. We opted for a special Darshana @ INR 500. We didn’t have to wait in any queues and went straight to the sanctum sanatorium. The statue of Lord Vishnu is breathtakingly beautiful and can be seen in parts through 3 gates. After the darshan, we were given a tin of the Prasadam each, which came free with our tickets. The same can be oversize purchased from INR 100. All in all, a very beautiful experience

I went with my elderly mother & it was a pleasant experience. We went on a weekday and took the special darshan ticket worth Rs.1000/person. There was no rush in the special darshan line and we got the main swamy darshan within a few minutes. Then we went to ticket counter 8 with the special darshan receipt & collected our prasad which consists of sandal wood, elachi banana, powder sugar prasadam and kum kum. Even though it is a Sabarimala season, I recommend going on a weekday & buying the special darshan ticket for a crowd free experience. Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya

You must visit this god's abode (5 star for Prabhu Vishnu blessings and for calling me there). However I was highly disappointed by government management who are here just to milk the profit from devotees and zero maintenance. Even so that there is no waiting area available when temple is closed during lunch time.

Amazing temple with amazing architecture. Truly a gem of Kerala. Here man needs to compulsory wear Mundu and women can wear salwar kameez or sari. We visited this place in the month of December 2023 which was Sabrimala season hence there was a bit rush, but overall you can have darshan within an hour or so. Since here lord vishnu is in sleeping position, you are not able to have darshan of the lord vishnu due to poor lighting because only diyas are lit in the sanctum sanctorium. Temple also provides the cloak room facility where you can keep all of your belongings. Nothing is allowed inside the temple except wallets : ). Disclaimer: Due to paucity of time, we reached late at the temple and one of the shopkeeper tricked us to buy dhoti for women also saying that salwar kameez is not allowed, but it is indeed allowed so dont listen to anyone. If there's doubt just ask the guard of the temple premises.

Our visit to the revered Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple at Thiruvananthapuram was an awesome, spiritually lifting experience for us. This was our first visit to this shrine and we were very happy to see the place maintained so well, everything was very clean and the movement of devotees well coordinated. Inside the temple, the darshan of the deity was simply a very humbling experience. The idol of Sree Padmanabha Swami looked simply resplendent and beautiful and it truly felt divine standing in front of the Almighty and offering our prayers. The arathi and the diyas enhanced the spirit and being of all present. The darshan timings are convenient and the entire process well regulated. The structure and architecture of this temple is over three centuries old, beautiful, ornate carvings and long corridors which seem to be never ending. Right from the presiding deity and the idols of the other gods are magnificent and a sight for hungry eyes and grateful hearts. The legend and the history behind every deity, structure and the tremendous effort which our forefathers have put in to make this place a divine, inspiring, lifting experience is seen to be believed. A truly divine, humbling experience at Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple. May his blessings be with everyone, everywhere.🙏🙏🙏

One has to change over to a Dhoti and carry nothing to visit the temple. However, if you are in a hurry, don't forget to carry cash so that you can purchase VIP entry tickets from inside and skip the long long line to reach the inner place of worship. People line up in the large veranda and moves slowly forward and its a really long long wait. But the wait is worth and one feels the peace and tranquillity of mind to be there. Dhotis are available for purchase in the various stalls in front of the main entrance.

Check the timings. There is free dharsan and rs 50 all time....spend the 50 worth it imho. There is 500 dharshan at 830 am as well but cant speak of thT experience.. Rs 500 to priest will get you bigger prasanth ...rs 100 will get you a smaller one. Can't carry the shirt inside. Check in the camera so that you can take beautiful pictures before/after dharshan and don't leave it in the car.
