I have heard a lot about Beypore Beach. While staying at Tirur, I reached Ferok by train and then took a bus to Beypore. The route is scenic and rustic so I was excited to visit the place. But alas, as soon as I reached the road to the beach, I was informed that the beach was closed for repairs and renovation. However, I explored a side gully leading to the beach. Magnificient view. lovely beach. A walk down to the breakwater and you are so close to the profound power of the sea. The beach was cut down to a very small location because of the repair work etc. I even had to miss out on the boat trip to the lighthouse on the other side.

Beypore beach is the best place near Calicut to spend an evening, away from the crowd of the city. The pristine beach offers real tranquility and I have been to the beach with family, friends and alone. I love to walk through the walkway and watch the sunset (tough bit crowded on weekends) and taste some fish fry and roti from the shops near the beach. Sometimes we don't feel like leaving the beach and though I have been to all beaches of Kerala, I like Beypore beach better than all other beaches. There are facilities to watch sunset from a boat which will take you to the sea but I prefer to be on the beach. In April when I visited the beach it was bit humid but there were visitors and I spend almost two hours with my son there

Its a drive to Beypore from calicut which gets into this old charm place... Though the beach is not the thing to really boast about... there's a really nice walkway ,broad and safe enough, paved for a lovely walk into the sea. Fresh breeze with all the moisture unto your face..Lots of Crabs in the rocks below and the receding skyline with passing boats and ships...
The Port is another 1km away ,wherin you can travel to the other side on a barge with your car ; and enjoy a drive right into the sea....though be careful of the timings...the last trip is fairly early by 6 pm or so..
Also do not forget to checkout the souvenir boats/ Uru as they are called..reminiscent of Old age ships...presumably seaworthy boats earliest from India... there is a great demand for the souvenir available on many small shops selling on both sides of the road to Beypore Port

The unique thing about this beach (which is otherwise decent at best) is a long walkway. If you have a camera in hand, you should have a bit of fun here. Worth a visit, even though it's a little out of the way.

Huge amount of money has been recently spent on beautification of the Beypore Beach and Sea bridge... But still lot is let desired... Littering is a major concern and nothing is done by the authorities to prevent... The place has potential to become a major spot but lot need both for govt and people visiting here......

The first thing you expect of a beach at "God's Own Country" is cleanliness- and that very thing is missing at the Beypore beach. It's so dirty and ill-maintained that you will be depressed. The only silver lining in this otherwise dull beach is the long straight walkway that takes you quite deep into the sea- perfect for a walk at dusk and dawn times.

Walk along the sandy beach, and promenade/pier and chat with the friendly locals. They may want to take your photo - and then you can take theirs. Soft sand and shells as well. This isn't far from busy fishing port - a must see for early morning or late afternoon activity.

Do not visit beypore during the afternoon hours , as it is soo hot and there are no shades available. No decent restaurants nearby , so i would suggest eating from the city before you leave. The beach gets crowded ar times and is not neat compared to Kappad or Calicut Beach , The only nice part is the long walk along the platform that extends almost a kilometer into the sea.

The land made famous through the stories of vaikom mohammed basheer...... Rocky pathway made inside the sea for almost a km..... It's a fantastic experience to sit at the end of the pathway on the rocks while the sea breeze touches you and can see a perfect sunset with boats and ships moving through.....
Can eat lot of tit bits there and special flavoured ice drink which they call as "ice urathi"....

Bo specific timings for the beach. However, in my opinion, you can have better sunset view from Kozhikode beach.

Sorry for asking but I need to know about the smoking polices. Are there non-smoking rooms or can someone tell me about the smoking. Unfortunately I suffer from asthma so need to find out.
What district is this guesthouse in?
Thanks.
Written 18 January 2015
Smoking in public places is prohibited here, however people do smoke well away from public buildings and bus shelters. There is no guest out right on the beach however there are some small hotels at the town center which is hardly 10 minutes walk from the beach,
This beach is approximately 16 kilometers from Kozhikode district centre
