Top ways to experience Gandhi Bazaar and nearby attractions
The area
Neighbourhood: Basavangudi
Close to Jayanagar and home to the Bull temple after which it was named,
Basavanagudi is one of the oldest localities in the vibrant metropolitan of Bengaluru,
with structures replete with character, architecture and rich history. Numerous old
and beautiful temples define the true essence of this green locality filled with chirpy markets like the colourful Gandhi Bazaar, many parks with ancient trees, a wide range of unique eateries and dotted with tiny lakes. Taking a stroll here is full of
Malgudi Days throwback moments since this pretty lush green neighbourhood has still retained its old-world charm, which might remind you of scenes and stories from the popular collection of short stories by RK Narayan. From a stately old spacious home that once belonged to the Diwan of Mysore, a shop in a heritage family home, a 100-year old home that has turned into a reservoir of modern art, there is a lot of cultural confluence at every step.

Starts by morning 6 am. Market has mostly great flowers and fruits. Many famous showrooms for clothes, sweets, utensils and dry fruits can be seen. Has nice traffic management and roads though small are clean and maintained.

I'm yet to see a Bangalorean who hasn't visited Gandhi Bazaar. Situated in the heart of the city in KR Road close to KR Market, and near to National College, Bangalore Institute of Technology, and Bangalore Medical College, this place offers everything!
Visit this place for getting pooja items, fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, jewellery, and other items.
There is an Adyar Anand Bhavan at the start of the Gandhi Bazaar close to KR Road. Do have Bhel Puri there. It is heavenly. "Badam Halwa" at "Ice Thunder" is lovely too!

We can get every thing at one go in Gandhi bazar. One side of the foot path occupied by vegetable vendors, and other side is occupied by florists and fruit merchants.Apart from that we can get all groceries .A place to fill the belly :Vidyarthi Bhavan,Roti ghar,New Krishna Bhavan,Time pass dinner to name a few. Best to mention Subbamma stores which sells all ready made snacks and masala powders which sells like hot cake, you can always see a few rows of customers are standing.
