For years I had planned, plotted to visit Nrityagram but it kept slipping away. Finally I went with my friends who arranged the trip. Getting away from the city is good, after 20 kms we were driving past villages, cultivation, small temples. You could smell the dryness of drought, brown brush all along the way. It takes about an hour... More

We visited this place on a weekday and it was not that crowded. The drive through the village roads was simply amazing(coz of the greenery and the good roads). There is an Office near the entrance where we have to pay an entrance fee of 50/- per person. They even explain the history of this Gurukul, the Dance Courses and... More

I went to Nrityagram on a Sunday and loved it! I got to watch an adult dance class and the dancers were so talented! Being a dancer myself, it was a blissful experience to watch the dedication of these students and the teacher! The place was absolutely beautiful too! You can simply sit around and relax, listening to music coming... More

This place is magic. It's outside of the city, so you need a cab to get there (which is cheap in Bangalore). you get a glimpse of traditional Hindu dance practice, precise movements, I couldn't stop watching them, so dedicated and focused. restaurant is great on site. Definitely a unique experience and insight into Indian culture.

Tranquil because it is away from the huzzle and buzzle of the big bad city. About 25 kms after a detour at Jalahalli on the Bengaluru - Mumbai highway. Good roads except for a few rough patches the place is easy to find with your navigation on. Rustic because this Oddissi dance school is built on the lines of ancient... More

This place I'ds perhaps the only place in India which has been set up on the lines of a true Gurukul - the students of classical dances who resides here with teachers are housed and live like a family . The village atmosphere and the vastness of the beautiful set up here is an experience in itself . The trees... More

I think this is the place where you can see some amazing odisi dance practice. The kind of professionalism is unmatchable. A must visit place for dance lovers and also can enjoy some nature and fresh air. For shutter bugs as mentioned in other reviews it could be disappointing. But it's also not fair to expect clicking when someone is... More

Nrityagram is situated very close to Bangalore but yet it is far away from the humdrum of the city life. It is nestled amongst the farms, the last remaining grasslands of Bangalore and lush green trees with hardly any civilization in sight. The drive was an absolute delight taking us through the verdant farms and cattle-blocked roads ;) and yes... More

This place is 30-40 kms away from bangalore. It is not a good idea to go as a group to enjoy holidays. Because it is a dance school , you have to maintain silence. Once you enter Nrithyagram ,you have to take 50 rs pass. You can watch odissi dance teaching class and photos taking is strictly prohibited inside class.... More
