Ladakh is not really a place to visit on your own. If you do, you'll be missing on what makes the place so special - its culture, history and buddhist traditions. Stanzin Mutup is an incredible guide: attentionate, patient (not everyone is able to handle high altitudes and daily excursions equally well) and, especially, with an incredible knowledge of local customs and buddhism. His team are perfectly well organised. In the time we spend with them, there was never a mistake, never a promise not kept. The food is delicious and what we saw, the way we saw things, was unforgettable. We often travel to distant countries, and we expect (and usually encounter) hickups. On this trip there were none. We owe it all to Mutup and his incredible team.
