This is a fort which not too many tourists visit. There are around 250 steps that take you to the top of the fort. Not much to see in the fort but the climb gives a good view of the city

Today 30th April, 2016, our last day in Srinagar but we are to cover many worth seeing places, marketing etc still then. So, after lunch we decided to pay our homage to Sharika Mata temple on Hari Parbat on the western part of Dal Lake & at the fringe of Srinagar city .In my other review on Kashmir, I wrote... More

Hari parbat is a hill visible from Dal lake. It looks very beautiful with a Fort on top of it. We went up the hill to see the fort but were not allowed, as it is occupied by the security forces at present.

Very beautiful fort right in the center offf the city. Need prior permission and tickets to reach the top.about 1 km uphill trek is there to reach the top from the car drop point. Enjoyed the view of srinagar from the top, nice architecture.

Buy tickets for this at Nageen club, by car one can go nearly half way up and from there it's about 20 mins walk up. There is a temple, mosque and a gurdwara besides army presence and a great view

Provincially known as Koh -e Maranis , Hari parbat is a hill overlooking the commanding view of Srinagar . It is the site of the Durrani Fort and has a notable religious dimension for the Hindus, Muslim and Sikhs alike ; hosting a famous Hindu temple, two shrines of locally venerated Muslim saints and a Sikh gurudwara . Being a... More

Our group of 12 traveled nearly 40 minutes to see the fort. You will have to climb about 100 steps where you reach a Y junction. Left goes to the fort and right goes to a temple. Bunch of Army guys guard the attraction. We were disappointed to learn that access to fort is allowed only with a permission letter... More

Through the old city is exciting in its own right. A lot of steep steps to an ancient temple where a rock is the centrepiece. The views over the city are awesome. Can get tickets from Nigeen club to see fort - we didn't. No time.

Thank neil s
