It is located near the Ahmedabad railway station. There are two pairs of minars one is near the kalupur and other one is near the sarangpur. The architecture is beautiful with intricate designs and carvings on the pillars and minarets. But Locals have made it dirty and stinky. Still it is recommanded to visit this unique historical site.

THE SWAYING MINARETS I have seen many architectural wonder-works in churches, mosques and temples the world over during my visits to many countries in different times. But I have not seen anything like Ahmedabad’s swaying minarets. India is a repository of such wonders being the cauldron of many civilisations and cultures. People already know about the Taj Mahal or the... More

Loved the architecture. Of course disappointed because one of the minarets is missing and could not get to shake them and experience the jiggle. The minaret only surviving am told fell off during the earth quake and was restored. Lucky, they were not damaged. Most importantly, as this place is also used for prayers and is considered a mosque our experience... More

This is amazing wonders to see the shaking minarates. Though govt now don't allow the shaking of minarets due to security reasons. But the minarates are still in good conditions Must visit. I would appreciate and strong opinion that this can be added in wonders of the world.

There are two pairs but are prohibited to enter the minaras. Luckily I have climb the minaras long ago when it was allowed to climb and push one place of the minar and one can see the other was also shaking. How brilliant work of engineering.

Also known as the Shaking Minarets, they are playful but with a whir of quivering mystery. They have left the best of architects and pioneering design engineers intrigued and in unresolvable wonder. What they cannot unravel is when one minaret is shaken the other begins to vibrate, though the connecting passage between the two remains vibration-free; what causes this vibration... More

We had made a small list of places on our visit to Ahmadabad. Sorting places based on ease of access we decide to see this first. We walked to the location mentioned in the Google map. We could see the top of the tower but couldn't find any entrance. On asking people near by, they said we can't enter. The... More

There are two such structures one in a mosque close to the railway station and other on the platform of the railway station (which can be viewed mostly from outside the station). The area close to the mosque is quite dirty and stinky. We still went and saw the architectural marvel. The locals told us that if you shake one... More

It is near Kalupur Railway station Ahmedabad.Sidi Bashir Mosque in Ahmedabad is a must visit place due to its unique construction. The minarets of the mosque are called Jhulta Minar or shaking minarets. There are only two minarets left and it is believed that gentle shaking of one leads to vibration or shaking of other minaret. But, now, shaking and... More
