We came here to see Mahatma Gandhi's home and the museum they have around it-- such a beautiful tribute to Gandhiji. I especially love the huge quote "My life is my message" in English, Gujarati, and Hindi on the wall on the museum side. It's really a lovely and peaceful ashram- a must visit for anyone coming to Ahmedabad.

Sabarmati Ashram has historic importance for Indians as the place was the abode of Mahatmaji for some time. The once secluded ashram has now been enveloped by the growing metro. Decent place to visit. Entry is free so sometimes the crowd is not good. There are different old rooms which were used by Gandhiji and his family/party. Apart from this there are old paintings, utensils with some history attached which you can see.

The Ashram is a tale of our freedom struggle center lead by Mahatma Gandhi. The Non violent movement birth place also one can say. also the simple living style of the Mahatma one can observe.

It is a very good and a MUST SEE Destination in the city of Ahmedabad. One can see the Indian Spinning Wheel called CHARKA which was popularized by Gandhi Ji.

The place is serene and takes one back in time to the days of these legends and their way of life. Situated on the banks of the sabarmati, the complex is a calm oasis. Loved the museum designed by Charles Correa too.
