St. James Church is believed to be the oldest surviving Church of Delhi. The beautiful imposing sturucture is a major landmark in North Delhi. Somewhere to be visited along with the Nicholson Cemetery and Mutiny Monument for those interested in the history of the Mutiny/First War of Independence. There is quite a few items relating "Skinner's Horse" inside the church. There are also many moving memorial tablets on the walls of the church about British families killed in the mutiny which gives some insight... More

The first church to come up in Delhi by Col. James Skinner; services on Sunday Mornings but visitors can go in and ask if they can be shown around. The beautiful stain glass windows are best seen with the rising sun behind then in the mornings. Classy art all over.
