Next to city centre, in Sector 16 is situated Zakir Hussain Rose Garden Asia's largest Rose Garden and is spreaded over 30 acres of land having over 1600 different species or roses. These have been planted beautifully carved out lawns and flowers beds. Like the cultural zone which is just across the road in sector 10,this was also planned by Dr. M.S. Randhawa as his interest in horticulture and fondness for flowers was profuse.

Huge but without roses. Could be considered for morning walk though especially. However, it is avoidable.

I have been visiting this place earlier as well .. but I feel it should have more roses, bigger roses . But probably the climate of Chandigarh does not allow that all through the year. Keeping that in view it's a nice place.

On our way back to Delhi next morning, we stopped at the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden. This is a botanical garden that has about 50,000 rose bushes of numerous varieties as well as some medicinal plants and trees. The garden is named after our third president Dr. Zakir Hussain and must be looking its best when the roses are in... More

Close to Sukhna Lake and Rock Garden. The Rose Garden has lots of varieties of roses and trees of medicinal value. One of the largest of its kind in Asia. Hosts the annual Rose Festival in February/ March. You can relax in the garden in the evening - When we visited the plants were in full bloom.
