At the heart of Hyderabad’s technological revolution, HITEC City is the IT hub of the
city. A stark contrast to the historical monuments and sites, this is a city within a city for all working in the huge array of IT companies here. From residential areas to
shopping complexes, HITEC has become a great destination for its vibrant nightlife and variety of hip and happening restaurants, bars, cafes of different shapes and sizes. The mood here is young and buzzy with so much happening at any given time. Home to some of the best 5-star hotels, a craft village for all art lovers, the multi-cuisine street food stalls in the nights, HITECH City close to Gachbowli has a beautiful nature spot as well. A lake hidden between huge granite rocs, Durgam Cheruvu is great for boating, camping, trekking within the city.

We had a course reunion in Hyderabad.
Shilpsramam was selected as someone read the reviews about it and someone had said it was something similar to Dlli Hat of Delhi. Left for Shilparamam after breakfast in the hotel and by the time we reached Shilparamam it was approaching noon.
The entry ticket was ₹ 60/- After entry, on enquiry a couple of lady shopkeepers informed us that for shopping we should go to the left as we entered and to go to the right if we wanted to go sightseeing. Few of us chose right.
The route is lined with shopping stalls unfortunately all of them, well almost all, were empty and the route had a deserted look about it. A prominent sign placed along the route proclaims 'Mountain View'. In the hope of having a good view of Hyderabad from this 'Mountain View' walked all the way uphill only to find that entry was blocked and the place was reserved and meant only for hire for private functions like marriage receptions. Not only were we disappointed but also felt cheated. This fact should have been made clear at the very first sign pointing the way to 'Mountain View'.
Walking along the route eventually led us to the 'left side' - the shopping side, of Shilparamam because this is the only side where most of the stalls had shops.
Shops were mostly selling Hyderabad pearls and handloom clothing.
Lack of eating stalls and the stalls selling, cold drinks, ice cream etc were almost absent.
A great amount of energy, thought and money must have been spent on creating and installing beautiful works of art, statues, and murals throughout Shilparamam. Landscaping waterbodies.
All the effort of creating such a beautiful place has gone to waste because of lack of crowds to appreciate the same.
The administration needs to take steps to make it more popular. They could start by reducing the entry cost. Rent out all the empty stalls made for doing business to diverse type of goods. Have plenty of eating places with various cuisines. where people could relax and have refreshments.
In its present state, Shilparamam is a disappointment.

I went to Shilparamam twice in the month of February with my guests. Both days in the evening lots of mosquito 🦟 were troubling the guests. No eatery Shop to buy water. My husband went out and bought water bottles from outside. So please carry your stuff. Lots of artists were sailing their craft items. It was not very crowded so very nicely all the shop keepers attended the guests. Place were decorated beautifully. My guests bought lots of gift items. Wonderful place to visit evening time 😍

It might feel rather touristy at first but this is a great place to visit and is more than just stalls of mass produced goods. There’s entertainment on a large stage, some truly handmade crafts if you look close enough and plenty to admire with the statues and small museum in the centre. The colours are fantastic and none of the sellers were overly pushy, but remember to haggle if you do end up buying anything! A must visit when in the city!

Shilparamam is suprisingly lovely. I thought it would be a tacky tourist trap, but it is actually quite insightful.
When you enter, there is a bazaar where arts and crafts from all around India are sold. For me, the highlight is the Handicraft Museum where you can learn about the crafts from different parts of India. The Bird Park, while a small area, does surprisingly exhibits interesting bird species! The Sculpture Park is another must-visit, and there is also a nice Cultural Show at the amphitheatre in the evening.

A beautiful ethnic crafts village. Crafts & artefacts are all available at very reasonable prices. Ample parking spaces. Paddle Boating available inside. Quite a good number of photo ops moments. Best place in Hyderabad for genuine and authentic crafts items for moments and gifts. We can easily spend an entire evening here looking at the crafts are relaxing on the water side or in the greenery. Calm and serene. Must visit to carry some memories and memorabilia. Most of the crafts here are hand crafted.

Huge area to walk around. Entrance fee is 50 Rupees. Plenty of stalls that sell scarfs, throws, silk, pearls, crafts, toys, jewellery. Plenty to see and shop. Shopkeepers are quite pushy. If you need to buy, do bargain. The village museum is on this grounds.

Shilparamam is a traditional handicrafts village. The entry fee per adult is INR 50. I found a lot of traditional toys, sarees, ornaments & clothes here. They also have handmade purses, cup sets & stone idols. They organise a traditional dance in the evening, it was quite delightful to watch. All the prices will be high and one has to bargain to get a decent price. Overall a good place to venture into old traditional handicraft tour.

The place was on a list for a while, so decided to go there on a Saturday. It's venture by the state government to promote art and culture not only of Telangana but alos of other states. The place has 2-3 galleries and many stalls where one can buy traditional clothes, jewellery and decor items mainly. Also, it accommodates an amphitheater where there was a Bharatnatyam performance going on. It is extremely clean and very well maintained. I feel it is a smaller version of Nampally Exhibition. A must visit place in Hyderabad.

This place is a mini dilli haat. You get handicrafts, footwear & clothes from a few states. Definitely not as big as the one in Delhi & not as well represented by all states of our country. Bargaining - 20 to 30% is a must. A lady can easiy spend 2 to 3 hours here. Men & Kids may find it boring. A couple of small eateries catering for fast food is available inside. Just opposite across the road a good vegetarian restauran 'Chutneys ' is there if you want an elaborate meal. It is advisable to visit in the evening to avoid the Hyderabad Heat.
