Visited the museum but was extremely disappointed. $15 each for entrance and you can see it all in about 5 minutes. Photos on the wall of the discovery and photos of various men but like a lot of the things in the museum, there is no desperation to go with them. All replicas, some are good to be fair but some look like something you'd see in the knock of shops in Sharm. Extremely loud audio in Russian blaring over head and lots of Russians filming and filming you which can make you feel uncomfortable and very annoying and the museum wasn't even busy when we were there so no excuse for violating peoples privacy!!

The museum itself was very average. It's all replicas and only 3-4 rooms.
However, we had a great guide take us and he gave us loads of info, in particular my daughter loved it.
We learned a lot and made it a good experience
Go, but don't go on your own

Only replicas on display but also the name is not correct, there is no King Tut, his name is Tutankhamun. Not sure why the Ministry is doing this to its best known ambassador and crowd puller. Not much to see here, entrance is $15. If, however, you come to Egypt to see the real deal and also get the "ankhamun" bit, bestnit the real deal avoid this place and look elsewhere.

My son and I visited this museum around 9 pm (it is opened until midnight). The guard who let us in was very helpful and friendly. The quality of the recordings was rather comical, but there was no need for it, as each artefact was labelled extensively in English. The museum is laid out in a systematic way and the exhibition is extensive and very impressive. We spent two hours. There are also very clean toilets available.

its not a museum, four pillars with hieroglyphic writing on them.
two other rooms besides this, one of the is book shop and second is gift shop.
i wouldn't specially go there but if you are happen to be in the area then by all means explore its shopping mall and its roof entertainment area.

A fascinating visit through the life and history of Tutankhamun. The museum has excellent replicas of the pieces found in Cairo and gives an interesting story and insight into hos life and burial items. Highly recommended.

We had trouble finding the museam after hearing about it before we left the UK. We had originally wanted to take our 8 year old to Cairo as he was going to study ancient Egypt in his next year of school and was already very interested in King Tut, but obviously with the current climate, this wasn't possible.
The excursion guy at our hotel told us not to bother and that it was rubbish.....i can't believe that he has ever set foot in their as it was unbelievable!
Set in the basement of the Genena City shopping complex, it was $10 each entry and kids were free. We had arrived at about 10.30 and it was shut up. After asking a member of staff, they opened it for us and we had our own personal tour guide. He was able to explain it to our son so much clearer. All the exhibits are copies but are are exact and didn't look like it. My son was amazing by it all and now has a lovely little project to take to school next term.
Take a jumper or cardigan as the air con was freezing!
