It takes about 45 to walk there from town, and you will get a large stretch of fine sand beach with many iguanas. If you plan to stay for about four hours, Come early in the morning, or around noon time. Waves are high on the main beach and there are many surfers but the beach is extremely gradual. At... More

Great beach with lots of iguanas! A bit of a walk but a good exercise well worth doing. You can even swim with the iguanas.

very remote, but very cool. You can see marine iguanas in their natural habitats and enjoy a calm day at the beach in the bay. Truly beautiful and clean, but take your hiking shoes because it is about a 30 min walk from the entrance to the beach

One of the most beautiful beaches I've been to. The sand is so white and fine, like flour. Marine Iguanas are everywhere. Small sharks in the tidal pool. But I did not see any turtles anywhere.

Tortuga Bay has 2 beaches. The first has intense winds and currents, great for surfers. The chilly waters are a great way to cool off after a several mile walk (it's easy) in the sun. The 2nd beach is a completely calm, safe place to swim in warm bath-like waters. Great for all ages, snorkling, and soaking up the sun.

Once your taxi drops you at the entrance to the walkway that leads to the beach, you have a minimum 35-45 minute walk ahead of you. Initially, this is steep, but once you have negotiated the steps at the start it's pretty level the rest of the way. Take lots of water, a hat and appropriate clothing, plus lots of... More

It's a bit of a hike but well worth it. After trekking through the cactus forest, we emerged on a virtually deserted white sand beach that seemed to stretch for miles. But be sure to heed the advice of other travelers and bring plenty of water as this pristine beach is maintained by the National Parks so there are no... More

This beach is about a mile west of Puerto Ayora. The trail is made of pavers and can be pretty hot during the day. This can be a blessing as it somewhat limits the crowd. There is also a water taxi for those who are interested. I was told it runs every 2 hours. It costs $10 per person each... More

The hike was trying for 2 out of shape ladies, but MAN was it worth it! The hike was full of cactus and other dry coastal forest flora and fauna. The beach was pristine and absolutely stunning. LOTS of marine iguanas and crabs roaming around. The swimming beach was TEEMING with wildlife. We saw a boobie, an eagle ray, LOTS... More

Gorgeous, pristine beach! Wish we could have been there for the turtle hatchlings but thrilled to see the marine iguanas. There is a small lagoon beyond with quiet, calm swimming. Although, they warn against swimming in this beach because of strong currents, there were some swimmers there. Just beautiful!
