We did the highlandtour for $60. The taxi driver takes you to different places, also this one. We already have seen El Chato at Santa Cruz, so this is more of the same. Only here they have also the little very young tortoises.

We went here as part of the highland tour. It was nice to see all the small and jung ones at the breeduit station but i really prefereer to go to El Chato on the island Santa Cruz this is a much more beautifull place...More

Tucked way up in the highlands is this giant tortoise breeding facility. They have tortoises from babies to 90 years old. The older ones are in the wild and just roam the area. very fascinating to see this amazing place.

Great tour of tortoise breeding center dedicated to saving the species! Toured on feeding day - extra special. The tortoises range from babies to great grandparents - good walk through natural terrain.

When does the bus from the main port town on San cristobal leave to the highlands in the morning? Does it go as far as the Galapagos? I heard 7am? And where do you catch it and how much does it cost? Anyone know? Thanks

I spent 3 days on San Cristobal and never saw or heard of a bus. It's all taxis. What you want to do is hail a taxi in town and for $30-40 the taxi will take you anywhere you want to go for 3-4 hours. That's enough to do the... More
