Beginning at Darwin Bay Beach, this nature hiking trail leads to many seabird colonies, most notably those of the Red-footed and Masked Boobies, while passing by many cliffs and tide pools along the way.

Wonderful for getting close to Frigate birds, Swallow-Tailed Gull, Lava Gull and Yellow-crowned Night Heron...as well as the plentiful Sally Lightfoot Crabs. Short relaxing walk with much to see in close proximity. The beach is not great for snorkelling. It's steep profile means the waves...More

This is a short hike off Darwin's Bay. We saw sea lions, red-footed boobies, nazca boobies, frigate birds, sharp billed ground finch, prickly pear cactus with soft spines, swallow tail gull. Well worth the time to see some of these VERY up close.

Nothing really unique about the Darwin Trail on Genovesa. If your boat did not stop here, you missed very little and should probably be happy you had the chance to land in another location.

This trail leads from the beach through magrove bushes (where red-footed boobies nest) and past nests of frigate birds and Nazca boobies (which nest on the ground). The trail becomes rocky (volcanic rocks) so be prepared to change from sandals (for wet landing on the...More
