A decent walk up steep steps made more challenging with the heat. So best to do it in the morning. The views are well worth it

The Christ the King statue, visible from anywhere in the bay around Dili, symbolizes a Christian enclave in the Indonesian archipelago that is 100% Muslim (the largest Muslim population in the world/12.7% of all Muslims). East Timor gained independence and became a separate country in...More

This statue is a moment to Suharto's attempt to bribe Timor into remaining a part of Indonesia. It didn't work. The statue itself isn't hugely interesting, but it's a nice walk up. If it's wet, be very careful on the stairs. They can be incredibly...More

You can’t miss the importance of religion ( Catholicism) to the people of East Timor and this stage highlights this. Religious or not, its a long walk up, but the views are well worth the effort. I went in the morning, travelling by a blue...More

You can see this statue from far distance. We went there by car and climbed the stairs to the statue. You can visit this for free. On top you have a great view!

It's an easy walk from the carpark. And the views are breathtaking. A wonderful place to getaway when we needed a break from the diving. Most importantly, it's free!

Really enjoy my visit. The climb is decent all stairs (stairs are worn and can be slippery). I would reccomend going in the late afternoon early morning due to heat. The views are amazing! There is quite a lot of religious stories on the way...More
