A road takes you close to the base of the statue of the Pope, with a short walk up a wide set of stairs. There is a conference room where the Pope said mass (never open when I have been there)..Toilets also locked. Good views...More

Bit if a windy road and a few stairs but well worth the visit to look over the city from the statue.

It's about 100-150 steps to the statue. Steep steps. Best time would be in the morning else gets very hot. Very impressive statue.
