Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I walked along the promenade which extends for about 12km, allowing you to walk from Lovran to Preluk following the coast and with no cyclists or cars to intrude. The path is beautifully done with styled lamps, benches and viewpoints along its length as well as steps into the sea or onto little beaches. I got about half way before turning back but it would be an easy afternoon walk to do the whole thing. The weather was sticky hot but very dull for photography with almost no blue sky!

We found this to be the best feature of the region and have told our friends about it. We had a very long leisurely walk along the sea, passing parks, a museum, and lots of hotels with restuarnts looking at the sea. The promenade is well-landscaped and links a number of small seaside towns.

The walking path along the coast is beautifully laid out. Time and again you have a view of the feudal villas that were built along the coast. You can easily imagine what it must have been like to spend a holiday here in the past.

Beautiful walk along the coastline of Opatija, past beautiful Belle Epoque houses from times gone by. Beautiful architecture, beautiful to see. Very varied and varied. When we were there everything was beautifully decorated around Easter. Definitely go to the girl with the seagull and don't forget your camera.

Walked from Opatija to Volosko in the evening, and we loved it! I really wish we'd had the chance to walk the other direction, too, towards Lovran. It's a rare gem to find a pathway in such good condition right on the water like that. The views were great. There are lots of places to swim or stop for a drink if you'd like.

This is the absolute best thing to do in town, take a very long walk on this beautiful walkway that links several seaside towns. Along the way you will see beaches, parks, a theater, fancy hotels, mansions and lots of restaurants, cafes and bars. Set aside a lot of time to walk slowly.

A visit to Opatija is incomplete without walking a bit on the Lungo Mare.
Whether strolling along the promenade near the city center of Opatija or feeling close to nature along the sea, all of this is possible.
The famous figure by the sea of the woman feeding the birds is somehow just part of it.
A visit to Croatia would not be complete without the opportunity to walk along the coast and gaze at the vastness of the sea.
Even if you're not that good on foot or don't want to exercise that much, it's worth walking a few meters on the Lungo Mare.
Also recommended for old people (it is occasionally possible to sit on a bench in the shade), families with children and romantically for couples in the sunset.

Lungomare is more than a hundred years old and is one of the most picturesque seaview boardwalks I’ve ever experienced. We strolled the entire length, mostly smooth stone, over a few spring days and even saw a full moon rise one glorious evening. This walk away twists and turns, has shade and sunshine, and always a view of the sea. What’s not to love!

We loved the delightful town of Opatija which is situated on the coast of Croatia on the Adriatic Sea. In the 19th century it was a fashionable resort town, and is dotted with Habsburg-era villas. The very attractive Lungomare promenade runs along the coastline, and gives lovely views of the town and neighbouring islands. Small stalls were lined up along the promenade selling souvenirs, ice creams, tours and the like. We saw the beautiful 1800s Villa Angiolina, which is set in a garden of exotic plants, and today houses the Croatian Museum of Tourism. And we made a short stop at the 14th century St. Jacob’s Church which is located near Villa Angiolina. There’s lots to see in this pretty town so if you’re on the Istrian Peninsula, make sure you visit Opatija.

A gentle breeze, the view of the sea. What more do you need? On the way you can enter different parks and museums, as well as stop at a beach, cafe or a restaurant. Franz Josef the 1st was spot on with this idea!

I will be arriving in April from the Ferry Stop at Cal d'oro. Everyone says the hotel is hard to find. I have direction and a map but then most people do. What is the secret to finding the hotel??

Is it possible to hop on and off a Hurtigruten cruise? We'd like to travel in September and spend a couple of nights on the islands. Can we then get back on another ship? We're also thinking of incorporating a rail journey. Any suggestions as to what would work? Thank you.
