Parque Tayrona is a classic Caribbean beach and as nice a park as you will find along the coast. We went from Taganga in a 40 person launch to San Juan Beach. Beautiful facility! The boat ride was an adventure in itself with the beautiful scenery and an occasional splash of sea water! What fun!

I found Tayrona to be very beautiful. We weren't very lucky with the weather but nonetheless the landscapes are beautiful and the hikes very enjoyable. Don't carry your own tent as there are tents available on the campsites but bring a matt and a light sleeping bag with you. If you stay i the hammocks a mosquito net might be... More

Crowded beaches, forrest ok, very few visible animals, rather high entrance fee (for Colombia ). You have to walk in the heat between 1h30 and 2h00 to reach the beaches. Not really worth it, but since there are no nice beaches in continental Colombia except the ones near Panama, everybody comes to Tayrona. If you are in Santa Marta you... More

We did a day tour here which I would highly recommend! Being on a tour meant we could skip the huge queues to get in. We walked for about 2.5 hours visiting 3 beaches on the way, relaxed for around 2 hours on El Cabo beach and then walked back which took around two hours. It may have looked more... More

This parque offers something for those who love to spend their days on beaches. Quite beautiful ones in the area but not the best of whole Carribean world. There is coastal forest which offers beautiful views but nothing extraordinary. Which ruins the experience is that there are couple of old camping sites which are total rubbish and dirty. I won't... This is worth seeing but I would recommneded doing it in a day trip as the camping sites are filled to the brim & have inadequate facilites.

Excellent hiking trails! Each beach is beautiful and worth seeing even if you can't swim at all of them due to strong waves. One of Columbia's natural treasures!

If you enjoy camping, hiking, nature and beautiful beaches, Tayrona is made for you. I was surprised by how beautiful the beaches are. The place is very well preserved. It's not overpriced as one would expect, but it's prices are slightly higher than the Colombian average. I camped in arrecifes, a camping zone that worked out great for me. A... More

Amazing jungle trails and beautiful beaches. Trails are easily navigated and much of it is in the shade. However, bring lots and lots of water. The campsites are all incredible, although Cabo San Juan campsite is the best because it's on the beach. Strongly recommend snorkeling along the beaches where snorkels are available for rent and swimming is permitted.

Always call ahead and make sure it's open. This year they closed in February, usually they close during November. If it's open and you haven't bought your tickets ahead of time make sure YOU GET THERE EARLY. We went on March 3rd, first week it opened up again. Park opens at 8am, we got there at 7:30am and were one... More
