Asbury Park is definitely changing and improving, from the Boardwalk to the nice restaurants on Cookman Ave. While the Boardwalk area is still relatively small in terms of commerce, there are some shops and restaurants and a nice theater building with the requisite souvenirs and Bruce memorabilia. Some of the restaurants are good, such as Cubican and Langosta, but they... More

The old buildings are cool, but as others have said, there really isn't much here. There are a few restaurants and shops. It's nice for a fun stroll, but if you're looking for a more traditional board walk, you're better off at point pleasant.

I have grown up in AP and this is a disgrace. The establishments are trying but its Asbury Park. The name anomalous with Crime, vigilance, mugging and assaults. I have also worked there for many yeas as a Pawn broker. The 1968 riots have capsized a once beautiful and prestigious city. It will never recover. I am very sorry to... More

The Boards are back! I live local so I have enjoyed watching more and more business return to the Boards. Crowds are getting bigger and bigger. It's nice to see the family friendly atmosphere return.

I don't get the positive reviews. I can only assume these reviewers have a financial stake in a local business or something. A couple of old buildings? Big deal. Some murals? OK now what do we do? Catering to alternative lifestyles. Not my thing. A local band concert? Maybe Bruce will show up? That's a rumour that every promoter has... More

Asbury Park has done an amazing job of revitalizing a once dying piece of the Jersey Shore. It's an amazing, fun, family friendly place!

lets make it clear, its always to walk along the beach. that being said the Asbury park boardwalk which has been getting fixed for around 100 years still have virtually nothing on it. If you want some exercise fine if you are looking for something to do other than sitting on the beach you wont find it

Nice for a stroll. Beautiful beach. Needs some improving, but is nice overall. The theater building at the end is nice to visit.

I grew up near Asbury Park in Belmar, NJ. At that time, Asbury was a real family Amusement Park. Then the city suffered some real damage during the 1970 riots. For many years it was like a war zone. Asbury is now undergoing a true rejuvenation. However, on the boardwalk are now mostly restaurants and shops. The boardwalk is beautiful,... More

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the boardwalk, it's a lot different from my childhood. Many things have changed, but it's still nostalgic. Tilly and The WonderBar were icons and I'm very glad that they are still present for the next generation.
