It is a wonderful place to visit at the weekend. Beautiful landscapes, weather and food, nice to be with friends, a couple or with your family.

Located nearby Guatapé, you have to climb the stairs of the big rock El Peñol (Around 700 stairs). The price to enter is 18K COP per person. It does totally worth it for what you see at the top. From Medellin: 1 - Hôtel to...More

Climb those steps, the view from the top is worth every step. Guatape village is so colourful and photogenic too. Try to visit on a week day, it gets very busy at weekends

Went as part of a guided day trip. Totally enjoyed it. Great views of the reservoir after the challenging climb to the top. Don't worry, beer and other refreshments are waiting at the top, and restaurants with very good Colombian food await at the bottom.

Yesterday I went to Guatape and climbed to the top of Penol to see the Laguna - incredible sight - probably the most beautiful area of Colombia that I have visited.

This is a very nice place to visit but bearing in mind it takes nearly 2.5 hours to reach I’m not convinced of its worth. It is also all man made and not real. I thought to myself that there are better and more beautiful...More

Really beautiful setting. Great place to hang glide; absolutely amazing views while in the air. Climbing the rock is a lot of work but worth it; the views from the rock give you an idea of the hang gliding views, but nowhere near as spectacular....More
