Th is is a fantastic place to get 360 views of the city, old and new. We enjoyed trekking through the tunnels and admiring the impressive architecture from a time long ago. The odd zapatos monument is just below the castle and the La India...More

A great place to see Cartagena from another perspective, where you can have a little bit of silence for a moment. There are two options inside the castle, an assisted visit with guide or discover things by yourself. There are a lot of small and...More

A very impressive attraction, this castle (it is really more of a fort) offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of the city and also provides some great views of Cartagena. The structure itself is very imposing and takes a while to walk around the...More

Hard to imagine the size and scope of this unless you are lucky enough to see it from a distance. It is an immense structure. Be warned that the walk to the top on a hot day can be quite strenuous, but well worth it.

I can't say enough about the amazing view from atop San Felipe Fort. Overall, the climb to the top was easier than most hikes because many of the inclines are ramps, though there are a few stairs. Upon entering, you are permitted to explore freely...More

I loved this. Great views from the top, and there was an entertaining video on the history of the castle available in both Spanish and English. This is a must-see for Cartagena.

This is a great site to visit while in Cartagena. If you are ok with walking in the heat, this is a short 15 minute walk from the walled city. Make sure you have at least 1-2 hours to check out this site and bring...More

It's only a 20 min walk from the city but well worth it. Entrance is on the front side facing the city. Wrote wandering round exploring, finding the tunnels. Entrance is less than $5 I think.

This was one of my favorite places in Cartagena. Try to go early before the sun is to strong. Bring water.

San Felipe castle is one of the best spots in Cartagena. It's large, offers a good view of the city. Light is great late in the afternoon.

It will depend on the kind of disability. If you can walk up hill slowly, you will get to the most interesting site, with good views of the city. You will probably miss the tunnels, which are not so great anyway. The view... More
