Had to tip everyone there. Make sure that you wash yourself. Rocky walk to the water, but it was an interesting experience and fun to try something new.

This is a fun way to spend a morning. About an hour away from the walled city in Cartegena you will find this Volcano. My two friends and I haggled a driver who we meet through a mototaxi driver to take us here at 7am arriving at 8am for 150k all together. We got to the volcano at around 9am... More

This activity is as unique as any adventure sport you might know. But it is very rare. Imagine: Your feet wont touch the ground when you're in the mud; yet you'll be floating. You can lie down on the same mud, like you lie down on your bed, but you wont drown. If you swim, you'd get tired and move... More

Stay away, by the time you leave you will feel violated. Someone opens your door, wants money, takes your picture wants money, walks you to the stairs, wants money, massage when you do not want, wants money. It is the biggest rip off in Colombia!

We followed an earlier Trip Advisor review and took a private car from our hotel in the walled city. Such a great tip! We left around 8:00 AM. When we got to the volcano around 9 we were the only ones there. It was so nice to be in the mud and get the massages by ourselves. The people who... More

Such a nice experience. We got there early so our massage lasted longer than others but the trip to the volcano was well worth it. Just make sure you bring extra money to tip everyone !

We booked this thru Viator. we were picked up at the hotel and then made rounds picking up others..We left Cartegena and headed east, along the coast., the bus was air conditioned . it was at least an hour's journey. Eventually we turned off the main road and shortly thereafter arrived at the Volcano,. There were changing facilities and a... More

I've been to Cartagena four times before and absolutely love it, but typically when I go I spend all of my time within the walled city (which is amazing). However on my last trip to Cartagena my girlfriend and I booked the mud volcano tour through TripAdvisor as we had heard good things. It did not disappoint, we had a... More

We were with a bunch of Colombian guys - so probably got a lot cheaper than tourist prices - but even if you pay a bit more it's a lot of fun. The walk up and mud bath is fun - and the washing in the river a unique experience! Well worth doing if in the area.
