Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hey guys, If you are going to travel to Colombia or Cali, I recommend you this place Why? Because it is real salsa, you will find professional people who live for dance, practice and enjoy the old Cuba environment with a Ron bottle.
I'm sure o "La Topa Tolondra" is a whole lot nicer than new night clubs.
It's by far the best place to find and meet new people and cultures around the world, just in a night bar club.

If you think you know dance in this place it is very probably you change your mind. You can find people of several places of the world, old people and very young, great dancers and beginners, very colorfull visitors. The place is located in a neighborhood very tradicional but at the night you must to be careful. To be here is a "must” in your trip. Don't miss it.

Old Colombian floors
Salsa music
And a lot of culture in one single place

The entrance it's about 10,000 Colombian pesos (2.5 dollars )
But definitly I would come back
A lot of security
You must leave your bag at the entrance... Yes they have a locker ( I wouldnt leave my Rolex on the bag but for sure your jacket would be ok )

Inside there is tons of guards! You would feel safe ALLWAYS! Old guys dancing like a pro inviting the ladies to dance in a respectful manner!

Feel free to reach them on Instagram since they have begginer lessons Monday -wendsay from 7:00pm to 9:00 pm for free! (better to check with them on Instagram )

Seeking a place to connect with the locales through dancing? This is the place in Cali. The locales, more evolved in dancing, tend to trickle in during the weekdays rather than the weekends. The people here are usually courteous and well-mannered. As the security guards roam around regularly, deterring any warranted behaviors, you can focus on dancing and having fun, without being too circumspect and vigilant, other than being spatially aware while dancing.

Big space, really nice venue. Cool music. The salsa lesson between 19:00 to 21:00 was good. Prepare to work that body! Loved it. Try to take only a small bag or you will need to leave it in the locker room. Security are strict. To be honest, I did a salsa tour. Prior to coming here, we went to some local salsa places which were better and more traditional. This was good too but more 'modern' and very touristy.

I absolutely loved this place! I was there for the concert of La-33 and the vibe in this bar is incredible! People are dancing all night long, the music is great and staff is super friendly. I went there all by myself but I had no problem to meet people there and have a fantastic night.

I was dancing with my friend when a waiter stopped us in the middle of the floor with our drinks in his hands. He had just taken them off our table to accommodate a recently arrived couple.

Basically he told us that we had to stop dancing immediately, take our drinks and go away into a corner. Apparently our beer and soda water were trumped by a bottle of rum.

At least Cali's salsotecas tell you from the outset that you cannot sit at a table without buying a bottle of liquor. La Topa Tolondra seems to be happy inventing rules as it pleases and treating customers with disdain for the sake of profit. Now it has two fewer customers.

For salsa lovers this is an absolute must see spot. All over the world the salsa scene is quite the same. They'll play the biggest salsa hits and people will dance LA style and /or Cuban style salsa.

In La Topa Tolondra you'll find 100% salsa and that is to say 'old school salsa': boogaloo, pachanga and mambo mostly and additionally some latin jazz, chacha, son and son muntuno.

You'll will meet very good Caleño style dancers. A kind of rock and roll-ish salsa with very fast food work.
The ambience is pleasant and you'll meet an open and respectful atmosphere. Meaning that everybody dances with everybody, young an old, no harassment for a single woman.

Even if your not a dancer yourself, in here you can easily spend an evening watching people dance and making a lot of party in the latin way.

Entrance fee is 5000 peso. Only on Thursday 10.000 because of live music. Monday singles night. Tuesday couples night. Sundays closed (like almost everything in Cali) .

If you want to shake what God gave you with the locals of Cali, then go here. A word of warning, if you order a shot, you'll get possibly the largest shot ever... I made that mistake and am currently dry wretching as i write this.
Costs 10kCOP on a Thursday
A good spot!
