Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

View from the distance and you'll be happy. There is nothing from the original Marco Polo bridge, the current one was built something like 10 years ago or so. If you are expecting a place like in Venice or elsewhere in Italy, you'll be disappointed too. Once you ascend on the bridge, you'll find out that the space on it is occupied by a restaurant and covered by ugly glass tiles which do not fit the bridge pretending to be historical. The illumination in the evening is the high point. And the fact that you can reach it by subway (mind you the bridge goes by another name there Dongmen Bridge station)

One of the most beautiful bridges in the world. it is most awesome when lit up at night. Beautiful in many was, including the architecture, the statues of creatures standing above the waterline, the openings for water-traffic, the building structure atop the functional bridge portion, etc.

Normally stay at Shangri LA which is very close to this place. It is a really nice place for pictures. There are a few restaurants but haven't tried any of them.... I would say is a must visit place if you are in Chengdu

Arrived just before sunset. The bridge and its history are amazing.
We took the Metro Line 2 to the Dongmen Bridge Stop. Once we reached the top of the stairs we crossed the bridge and turned left on the crosswalk. After walking about 10 minutes with the river on our left, we arrived at another main road and crossed to the other side. We walked ahead to the river and the bridge can be seen on the left.

We went to bar street next to Anshun bridge and took pictures of bridge and river by night. We also walked the bridge both ways, admired the architecture and spent about 1-2 hours in the area.

This bridge is absolutely stunning at night, the reflection in the water is beautiful. We visited a place called the underground for drinks near here, plus had a lovely indoor bbq meal.

...I like it in the night, if you sit opposite of the Shangri La Hotel , at the steps of the River you not only have a nice view forward the Bridge, usually there are always Musicians who plays , really love it there in the evening. On the Bridge is a very good Restaurant and next to Shangri La Hotel is a Family mart store, where you can buy some snacks and drinks, a cheaper option than the Restaurant :-) Romantic place with a girl !

Photo shooting that’s it.
The Anshun Bridge is located over the Jinjiang River in the southeast of downtown Chengdu. Meaning "peaceful and propitious", it dates back to the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). With a spectacular view, particularly at night when the banks are lit, the veranda bridge houses a restaurant spanning the river and it is a popular of pub and restaurants nearby the location in the city.

Very pretty at night. It was super cold, but we still walked around for about 1hr. We wanted to have a drink at the bridge bar, but they mostly sell bottles (wine, whiskey etc.) and their barmen was not there yet, so we left without ordering anything. But definitely come here at night to see the beautifully lit bridge.

What is the nearest Metro station to Anshun Bridge? And is it walking distance? Or is it recommended to take local bus and what number? Is it safe location for solo trip? Thanks!
Written 11 September 2018
The nearest metro station is Niuwangmiao, but it’s still a 15 minute walk. I would suggest getting off at the Dongmen bridge station and walking along the river south, then turning left when it joins the other river and you will see the bridge, which is a 20 minute walk. At night this walk along the river is beautiful as everything is lit up. Chengdu is a big city, so depending on how late it is I wouldn’t suggest a solo trip getting there, but once there on the weekends it’s busy as the bar street is next to it. There’s always a bunch of taxis to flag down for getting back to your planned location after the bars!
