Started with the Kindergarden zone where the famous 花花 (荷花) and her less famous bro 荷叶 lives. 花花 shot to fame after a video of her went viral on Douyin and since then hoards of citizens / local tourists queue for hours to take photos/videos of her. Apparently any video of her is guaranteed viewership/interactions on social media. The queue on a non-peak day like today was 2.5 hrs, crazy. Follow the path to see the baby pandas at the Sun and Moon Delivery Houses (太阳/月亮产房). End the walk at the Red Panda (小熊猫) enclosure. These are not pandas per se, their faces look a little like them, with black patches round the eyes, but they are smaller in size, with long tails and move faster than a normal panda. They live together with pandas in the wild, a distant cousin of sorts. Fall-Winter are the best seasons to visit. Being the preferred weather by the pandas, they are more active, hence we have more to see too. Go in the morning too, as they tend to laze around after they've had their fill of bamboo.

This is an awesome experience visiting the panda sanctuary. Being a week day, it was packed with tons of people. The queues were crazy at some places. If you spend an additional 30 Yuan and visit the new section, it's absolutely awesome. Less crowded and better for viewing the pandabears. Loads of family fun when visiting. A must visit when in Chengdu.

We visited on an overnight stop over in Chengdu. The place was easy to get to by metro (getting off at panda ave) then caught a tourist bus for 2CNY to the entrance . Very well organised. Reasonable entrance fee (ticket brought in advance online). Although busy we did get to see many Pandas and took many photos. The place was huge. We walked through from the south to west entrance. I 100% recommend.

I joined a tour group that included the museum and the time spend at panda park was so short and we were passing by the various areas within 5 mins so it was not a pleasant tour. I do highly recommend you go straight to the new Sun Hills Area because there are around 8 panda in each enclosure and you can view them from the cafe as well. Away from the crowd.

Must visit when you are in China. You won't find this anywhere else in the world. I am a big fan of the small Pandas and they run around everywhere. Not sure if it is still possible, but like 15 years ago you even could do an internship here Pandas are just amazing! Lazy is the new cool

Absolutely recommend a visit and a must do while in China. The Panda's are well cared for, obviously very happy and have a huge amount of space to wonder around, play and eat. 1000% better than the panda's in Beijing zoo. Have to visit in the morning as this is when they are most active. We were told by our guide it is better when cooler as the panda's prefer it to heat.

I came with the purpose of getting photo shots of the pandas. I did not regret and really enjoyed the time. This is China and with a population of 1 billion people expect to be crowded from their local tourists. Can by pushy and noisy, so be warned. You can buy your tickets online but you may need your hotel staff to assist as tickets are bought through an apps and passport or ID is required for each ticket holder. Worst case, go to the park ticket booth but bring along your passport to purchase the tickets. Alternatively, ask for assistance from the park staff at the entry point and you have to reimburse the ticket purchase with cash. Go to the park at 7.30am and you will see much more activity but park gets crowded even at that hour. There is a Macdonald’s and other restaurants inside and outside the park. We took a taxi (30rmb) ride from downtown to the park, safe the trouble of a metro ride and bus ride to the park entrance. Pay 30 rmb for the buggy ride, ticket is bought inside the park (this is a huge park and the pandas are scatter at various corners), and don’t bother to walk because the park gets crowded. Head straight for the Sun and Moon nursery. The other sites can wait. You can walk the park after you have done the key sites. Panda base 6 - is the most crowded as it’s the local star celebrity panda. Go in the afternoon (after 11am), if u want to see the pandas sleeping. Go after 3pm and there is no crowd. The best season to see cubs is in the summer months from July onwards. Hope the above helps in your planning.

This was a great morning out! We saw so many pandas!!! We arrived by taxi from our hotel just after 8am. We booked our tickets through Travel China - we just needed our passports to get in. There were no queues - we went straight in. The research base is wonderful - it is huge and you can soon find space away from larger groups! The panda enclosures are spacious and well managed. We saw lots of giant pandas and red pandas too! It is best to go in the morning when the pandas are eating and active. There are lots of places to eat and some lovely souvenirs to purchase. Overall, a fantastic experience! It is easy to travel back into the city by bus and subway.

The Panda Park opens at 7:30 am, and we were ready, hoping to avoid the massive queue when the big tourist buses unload their hordes. In vain. Ahead of us, at least 1000 people had already been waiting in line for a long time, so we had to patiently wait to get in. There was so much pressure at the entrance that the staff didn't even bother to check our passports, which served as our tickets. We could have entered for free if we hadn’t bought tickets in advance. Once inside, you can choose to stand in another huge queue called something like 'single cycle loop.' Don’t do it!! The line moves incredibly slowly past some so-called ‘villas’ with a few pandas. It takes about an hour to get through, and our photos were not worth keeping. Instead, go on your own and follow the signs pointing to ‘villa 1,’ ‘villa 2’… ‘villa 7.’ Each of these outdoor ‘villas’ has an adorable panda that you can take great photos of. You’re in for a treat!

Very interesting place to visit with lots of panda to see. This is a must to visit spot in Chengdu as there is no other places in the world that have so many panda around. The garden is very big so be prepared for a long walk.
