At the end of the Grottos you can pop into this newly built and modern museum to see some rich history. Small and interesting enough to keep your attention! Reviewed by Ronny Fang.

Great Museum for young and old! Some spectacular tombs and vessels. Gives a good overview over Datong's history and art. Beautifully arranged and the building itself is also impressive.

The Datong museum has now been transferred to a new area on the outskirts of town, awaiting the completion of other official buildings. It is full of Wei and Tang treasures, from bronze to terracotta. Few visitors. A must.
