The site is the battlefield where Russian and Japanese fought for. There are two broken canons of Russian Army on the hill. Erlong Hill Fort was built during Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895 and which witnesses the two important battle in Chinese history. This place is still used as patriotism education base in Dalian. Entrance fee:25RMB adults, 13RMB students.

This is a very good place to visit in that a short walk on paved paths and battlefield in the fresh air is both enjoyable and educational even though you may not be extremely interested in the relevant Russo-Japanese War history and the guns, fortress and tunnels left on the site.

Being a history buff, it was surreal walking up the calm and beautiful Jiguan Mountain. Trying to imagine how many lives were lost by the Japanese in taking this stronghold from the Russian.
