This area is aptly named "Thousand Mountains" and there probably are. There are many staircases cut into the stone and the view from any of the peaks makes the climbing well worth while. The Buddha and adjacent monastery are great to see.

Steps by step, an ancient and spiritual China is revealed for those who search for it. I recommend it during the autumn, end of october, after Golden Week (more empty and beautiful trees and landscapes).

The nature formed 'Buddha' could just as well be Billy Crystal or Jolin for all I could imagine. But the cable ride and the hike to the scenic view was well worth it.
