Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Due to the coronavirus, the Star of Nanchang was idle during our drive-by. The 160-metre in height looks spectacular with the relatively clear sky as a backdrop.

Great panoramic views from the top of one of the world's tallest Ferris wheel, the Star of Nanchang. Operations commenced in 2006, and the Ferris wheel is showing its age.

RMB¥50 for a 30 mintues ride. 4-6 people for every single carriage on this Ferris Wheel. There is no light inside the carriage do please get your own torch handy if you need that.

On our last day in Jiangxi, we visited the Star of Nanchang [南昌之星], the world's second tallest ferris wheel after the Singapore Flyer. It was completed in 2006 and held the record for the world's tallest ferris wheel for two years. We each paid RMB50 for the experience. The guide asked us on the way to the hotel what we felt about it. I told her it was not maintained well; the gondolas were dirty and the fans inside were thick with dust. I told her I found it hard to believe it was begun only in 2006, seemed more like 1996. Tan Chan then sighed that "maintenance" is the common sickness of all China. "維護是全國的通病," were her exact words.

There is also a nice coffee shop just a few minutes walk south of the Star of Nanchang, and some other small amusement park rides children will enjoy. The whole wheel circuit takes about 25 minutes or so.

forget Singapore flyer or London eye, that's the thrill, I still cannot believe that this one is on of the largest wheels in the world, build with technology that reminds me on my childhood. Yes that the real deal no fancy high tech, computer control or security check. That wheel is turning. Don't go there at noon in Summer if too warm they start operating only in afternoon. And if you need to wait no problem for 100 RMB you rent a beach buggy for a fun ride along the river.
Amazing view at daytime, at night you better watch it from distance. Like a kaleidoscope changing color and create new pattern again and again

The ride lasted a good 30 minutes. Guess the best time to visit is in the evening. Was everything we expected.

I've lived in Nanchang for 6 years and have been on this ferris wheel twice. The problem with Nanchang is it's weather. It is so often cloudy (smoggy?) that it doesn't make for a great scenic viewing - you have to get lucky with the weather. This ferris wheel took about 30 minutes to ride so it was long enough. When I went the price was 50元. The skyline in Nanchang is greatly expanding so that I'm sure the night time experience should be improving. There isn't really anything near this ferris wheel so that makes the location kind of a drag, however it is becoming more and more populated so I'm sure that will be changing soon as the apartments in the area fill up. So, if you like the people you are with then this will be a fun place to visit :)

I think this is about 450 meters high. So, it gives you a great view of Nanchang and there is a small amusement park attached to it with fun rides for kids. :-)

A little alone visit around there.
The Star of Nanchang looks spectacular, really big, excitant and maybe funy.
But, I prefer just see it.
