Jiaoshan boasts the 2nd largest beilin (numerous stone tablets with calligraphy insciptions) in China, ranking only after the one in Xi'an. But pitifully we could not stay long to appreciate the tablets, as mosquitoes on the island are ferocious.

This is a place to go to get some peace and quiet from the city. It is lovely to visit and the history with it is so interesting. The island tried to defend Zhenjiang again the British in the Opium War. A must see!
