This part of the tour was the most depressing and pointless section of all. We are very spoilt in Australia in regards to zoos. We have in Sydney, Taronga Zoo and in Dubbo the fabulous zoo there. This place was sad and very much lacking in maintenance. The tour company Nexus could think twice about including it in their itinerary.... More

What to say? The day was rainy, windy and cold, all of course not fault of the zoo itself! The park is divided up into two sections, an amusement park to the right and the animals to the left. From the main entrance the animals are a good 10-15 minutes walk. The main restaurant is in the amusement park area,... More

As a westerner, it's probably not a place you want to see or give money to. There is a decent variety of animals; however, they are relegated to tiny, dilapidated pens that seem much more like a prison than a sanctuary. Many of the animals appear a bit malnourished and it's really rather depressing. Definitely not a place to bring... More

This isn't a place you want to go. Its sad animals in pens. With so much nature in Wuxi you can skip this and go on a walk that will be far more enjoyable.

I went with a Chinese family and both the adults and children loved it. However, I'm from England and this zoo was quite distressing for me. To be fair to this zoo, animals are very often kept in horrible conditions throughout the country and not just at this zoo. The elephant was tied to a metal pole in the middle... More

I was always cautious about writing reviews of Zoos, especially in some countries where the animal rights are questionable. I am glad to say that the conditions in this zoo can compete with most of the zoos in the Western hemisphere and probably win. Perfect day for a family fun, a little bit too commercialized but still very enjoyable. It... More

Wuxi Zoo is a lovely place which is in the same campus with and amusement park as well. Both for small kids and adult may enjoy in there. With a wide range of animals can enjoy the time. Enterence fee is 100rmb/adult. 398rmb yearly family membership card. It's worth. Because you can both enjoy in the zoo and amusement park... More

Avoid this place if you're an animal lover. I heard, but cannot confirm, that tourists notify various international animal charities/organizations after visiting this hell hole.

Absolutely perfect Zoo/Amusement Park for children below 10. If you're residing in Wuxi, get the annual pass, good for both the zoo and the amusement park next-door. (Not for teens or adults)

Very small zoo, good for kids below 10 years old. I went there with special ticket RMB30/person (a family of 4 members), I will definitely not go back for the next 5years.
