This is part of the Wuxi Film and TV base where they have San Guo City, Shui Hu City, and Tang City. The cities are film sets used to film various shows. There are also amusement park rides, food, and souvenir shops scattered throughout. And of course, there are no shortage of "pay to dress up and take a picture" places here. Unfortunately there are no tours available in English, but grab a map and explore the town on your own (without having watched the shows, it probably wont be of much interest anyway). The real highlight of these towns is watching the live shows offered. In San Guo, the "big" show is the "Three Heroes Fight Lu Bu". It has a large cast and they "fight" on horseback. I would recommend spending the majority of your time watching the live shows.

Good - Lots of original sites from movie filming. Popular movies like San Guo Yan Yi, Shui Hu Zhuan were filmed there. Combining it with Shui Hu Cheng gives you a price of 150 rmb, 75 rmb for students. Student price however is only available to local Mainland institution so if you may have to convince the person you study locally if you really want the student price. Shows are great and some of the staff are really nice as they pinpoint to you how to take great pictures and even remind you of the show timings.
Dislikes: From the bicycles rental when you step in, to souvenior shops around the area, this place really just wants your money. And even though they are not very expensive, especially when you convert to your own currency, you can't help but feel that you are simply there to boost the revenue of the place. And as the place is used for filming, it really isnt any significant if you view the place on its own. If you are a big fan of ancient chinese movies, you might be interested. but for others including me, I would look for other places to go
This attraction requires more than 4-5 hours to fully explore. And it takes about 1.5 hrs to reach from Wuxi Railway Station on K86. Bus fare is a ridiculously cheap fare of 2rmb. But it can get very crowded so squeeze on:)

I had read the historical novel of the `Romance of the Three Kingdoms' written by the famous Chinese novelist, Luo Guanzhong and infatuated with the many characters depicted in his novel.
Against a backdrop of this turbulent period in history were the numerous battle scenes of trickeries, plots and art of strategy deployed and fought among the characters of the three power blocs: the Cao Wei (曹魏）, Shu Han（蜀汉）and Eastern Wu（东吴). Prominent characters like Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Zhu Ge Liang left an indelible impression in me.
But it was my trip to this studio city that reinforced me the scenes of the historic epoch, the armored attire donned, the design of the battle launches, the horse riding and fighting. I felt going on a time tunnel to that period of survival and struggle. Beautiful waterfront scenery and magnificent historical architectural structures. The enactment of battle scenes evoked historical feeling of the past.
While it was all artificial and man-made, the restoration of the artifacts were made to resemble the historical facts. I think it was a valuable history lesson and my family enjoyed the visit.

This attraction is beneficial to people familiar withe Chinese history during the era of " THE THREE KINGDOM " period.
They have real life enactments of warriors dress in that era' uniform and armor and real life shows on battle fields and sound effects with Calvary that makes the scene real.
Tickets are expensive and the tram ride is most expensive if you cannot walk the whole big ground.

This was a stop on our tour. I didn't see any rides, so I'm unsure why it is called a theme park. It reminds me more of Warner Brother Studios. I would probably enjoy it more if I was familiar with the Three Kingdoms show.

This theme park moonlighting as a movie studio is similar to what they use warner brothers studios as a theme park as well as shooting movies or as this belongs to CCTV for tv shows. It really feels like being in a ming dynasty palace and they even have a working ancient port. They run cruises about replica junks used for filming and you can pay extra for a speedboat ride along the huge and shallow taihu lake. Because its a working studio they have costumes for you to try on and take home a picture as a souvenir. Tip try renting the 4 person push bike or 3 person electric scooters that looks uncanny resemblence to a disablity scooter back home.

This Theme Park was built 14 years ago based on the Novel, “Romance of the 3 Kingdoms”.
After purchasing a 1-day ticket @ 90 rmb per pax, u go through the Majestic Grand Entrance of the Park and can choose to go around the various sites on foot or rent a self-drive buggy @ 100 rmb per hour or join the mini tour bus. There are even horse rides available.
2 major highlights of San’guo City are 曹营 and 吴国的战船. Both offer great sites for photo taking against the scenic view of Taihu 太湖。 You can choose to put on traditional costumes of Emperor, Generals and have your photos taken by Professional Photographers for a nominal fee.
There are also theatre performances, musicals and dances in the park at certain intervals of the day. Rides for children such as Viking, Roller coasters, boat rides in the man made lake are also available. If you wish to tour Taihu, there are choices of high speed speedboats and Boat Cruises on “Ancient War Ships”.
The Park Management can pay more attention on the overall maintenance of the Park and the intricate details of the exhibits to attract more foreign visitors who are interested in ancient Chinese Military History in early ADs.

This man-made historic town is truly magnificent and awesome. The designer managed to re-create so many classic scenes that only appeared in the history text book or the famous novel Romance of Three Kingdom. It is absolutely a state-of-the-art masterpiece of modern age.

It's a sprawling massive complex laid out in ancient Chinese style that was apparently once used as a TV/movie set. Leave it to the Chinese to convert a disused set into something that is revenue generating instead of letting it go to waste. Love it.
The site is massive with various areas/pockets corresponding to slightly different themes. I personally found it a bit difficult to appreciate given my lack of deep insight into the shows these places were associated with. I expect for the every day local tourist it must be quite fascinating.
I did enjoy the live horse show located close to the entrance, and had several cool pictures taken around the set. It was a blisteringly hot day though, and shaded areas were few and far between. Also perhaps we came at a low season day because very few food vendors were open. Clean washrooms, clean place, and fascinating to be in such a huge space filled with historic-looking buildings.
Worth a visit but nothing too spectacular if you didn't grow up with these shows. Also located quite a ways away from the main city so if you're only visiting Wuxi for a short while and have no affinity for Chinese old-timey shows, probably not quite worth your time.

This is the stage built to remake the Three Kingdoms TV series.
It is very well built, with details, (using modern technology of course).
After having watch the TV series and looking at the stage in person, it is absolutely fascinating.
Will want to visit again whenever getting the chance to do so.
