Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This forested mountain beside the big lake is full of surprises, including a sound and water show around a giant lotus sculpture .... Dramatic music plays, water shoots out of dozens of fountains, and the enormous lotus opens to reveal a golden Buddha. Up the mountain, there is a gigantic Buddha -- the tallest standing Buddha in the world. There are lots of stairs leading up to the Buddha and somehow this place creates the energy and the mobility needed to climb all those stairs. There's also a replica of the hand of the big Buddha and you can put your hand on it to get a better idea of how huge the sculpture on the mountain really is.

The Wuxi Lingshan Buddhist Wonderland is a very expensive way to spend a slightly disappointing day.
The Grand Buddha statue itself is a marvel and you cannot deny that it is an awesome sight. The Buddha Palace is a strange, yet moderately interesting building and the other structures there are basically filler. It is a clean and well groomed park.
The main issues you will have are the extortionate 210 RMB per person entry fee and the distance from Wuxi. If you want to arrive anytime within an hour of departure, you need to take a taxi which costs between 110 RMB and 160 RMB on the meter. It is not cheap and really you would expect a lot more bang for your buck.
It is definitely geared towards domestic tourists despite the English signs. The Nine Dragons Bathing show was also cancelled, as the fountain was under repair. As this is a major draw for tourists, you would imagine they would reduce the ticket price (they didn't). The main aim is to part you and your money and the number of times you have to exit through a gift shop is testament to this.
With hindsight, we probably would have saved our money and gone elsewhere. If you are happy to spend money freely on a Chinese theme park, then this place is ok, but there should be a lot more to do and see for the price.

This is the place will may not see it at other place in the world. Once step in the hall you will start to enjoy the art from wall and ceiling. And don't forget visit the auditorium to watch the show, History of Buddha Siddhartha Gautama. Awesome place you must visit in China.

First time for me to feel quite impressed with a Buddhist Temple attractions in China, except for this one. The first point is, it is very clean, secondly, very systematic for Chinese standards, and they only charge one time entrance ticket, that is RMB 180 per person, and no one will come and sell you joss-sticks, in offering your prayers in the temple. And it is worth a visit, esp, if you are a Buddhist.... and the Buddha image, made of copper I think is very impressive.

It's all fake, it's all built recently and has no significant historic value at all. it exist to purely to trap tourists and to show off China's economic might, just like what Dubai did, building the tallest building in the world and then let it sit there gathering dust and sand. Don't waste your time coming here.

It is a tourist attraction. As a tourist, you will be amazed with everything the complex has to offer. It is as big as Hong Kong Disneyland! The difference is that you would spend only 3 hours here compared to 2 days in HK Disneyland. The water show is nothing outstanding. The dancing water jets are available anywhere in the world. The 15-minute show has music and water dancing in tune to instrumental music. No lights as it's a daytime show.

Someone even the Chinese we talked to in nearby cities believe this is an actual historic site. This is a bunch of large, clean, well polished, poorly detailed buildings on the side of a mountain. The mountain and lake would have been much prettier and enjoyable if this place had never been built. Built only ~10 years ago, don't let anyone take you here thinking you are going to see anything of historical significance. You'll feel like you got duped!
This is the worst excursion that I think I have ever taken!

Fully commercialized "holly" place which has nothing to do with spirituality or any other experience not connected to money! If you ask me, it is quite kitschy and typically Chinese in this era: all about image without any substance. Expensive for what it is!

The entrance fee is steep but there is a lot to see in the whole park: the enormous Buddha statue, the funny laughing Buddha, a water fountain, a Buddhist palace and more. All the sights are related to Buddhism. The Buddha statue is 80 meters high and can be seen from afar. You can climb it (walking stairs) up to the level of its toes, which people like to touch for good fortune. The whole parks takes a few hours to walk through so wear good walking shoes and bring water and snacks. Preferable visit when the weather is nice. Some sights are hard to access with a wheelchair. Accessible by public transportation (a bus). Everything is newly built so do not go if you are looking for historical sights.

about 2 hours far from my hotel, this place is one of the best buddhist pilgrimage in China. they also have a show twice a day where Prince Siddhartha comes out of Lotus leaf. hundreds, maybe thousands of visitors every day. If you are going to WuXi, this place is a must visit.
