Good experience at the 2500 years old town

Had a walk there after lunch. Good place to experience the old building of China. Was told that the town has 2500 years of history.

A quiet town which is far from city. Tickets were purchased at 78 RMB which provides access to 7 - 9 other attractions in the town. When I was there, the 2 attractions were closed foir renovation which was a letdown. The attractions were not great in any sense. Please try other water towns closer to the hotel which you... More

We like to avoid the usual tourist route, so I was happy to learn about Luzhi and to go through the trouble to get there. Because it’s off the tourist route, you have to find your way there. It’s not out of the way, but if you don’t drive in China, you gotta figure out something else. The local bus... More

Luzhi is wonderful. A true water town with beautiful stone canals, houses and shops. A relaxing place to wander and the shopping is cheap. This is my #1 pcik to visit.

Whilst this is an ancient city, it has mostly been rebuilt, but retains much of its ancient character. There are plenty of places to walk through and explore and it's a great day out with shops and restaurants. The smell of stink tofu is pervasive!

Luzhi is a old water town where locals are still living in the town. Thus, it looks more realistic and not over commercial yet. It's also a good place to walk around. We enjoyed our afternoon there to walk around and have sightseeing. There's a restaurant nearby the Luduan (unicorn). You should also try their Aozao noodles. Btw, there's no... More

Luzhi Water Town, better known as Venice of China is a 2500 years old water town about 118 km from Shanghai and 20 km south of Suzhou city, mostly found in its old traditional form. Conscious attempts have been made to keep its originality and antiquity. The old part of the town is spread over 250 acres. The town is... More

We went to Luzhi on a sunny Wednesday in May and it was a good choice. There were no crowds, just a few Chinese tourists and us, everyone else was just going about their day. Most people who reviewed this place on TA mentioned how expensive the entrance fee is with 78 rmb. But Luzhi old town is actually free,... More

It's a beautiful water town. We caught a rapid train train from shanghai train station to suzhou (25 min)and then a bus from suzhou to luzhi(50 min). You can enter the ancient and protected area without any ticket. Ticket is needed for some special places and galleries if you are interested in them(76 rmb) and also if you want to... More
