Interesting temple, but nothing really unique. We were lucky we had a good guide who lectured us on the history of the place.

We were lucky that there was no crowd when we visited so we could enjoy the tour at our leisure. The staff there were courteous, knowledgeable and helpful.

Hired a local guide to take us round this temple. He made the tour of the temple interesting and was very informative. We took a tour of the river and the scenery was simply breathtaking. Definitely a place not to miss!

As a temple, it has the usual fare to offer aka nothing overly special for this temple, but its immense popularity lies in it being mentioned in one of the most famous poems from ancient China which is in all Chinese literature reading list. Still good for a quick visit and see the temple I have read about since a... More

made famous by an ancient poem, for thousands of years it has been an extremely popular tourist spots. extremely commercialised (a visit to the bell tower requires purchase of an additional ticket), extermely packed with mainland tourists, and like many other touristy Chinese temples, i think the temple has lost its "authenticity". if you have time, and have a guide... Difficult to access due to road construction and quite a walk from the main tourist village - but once there such a peaceful garden and temple. It is a working temple which serves the locals.

The key to such harmony? Go early in the morning get their as it opens and just enjoy the time there... My next place later... More
