This free temple/museum/gardens is a highlight of Suzhou. It's deceptive in how much there is here, as at first glance it appears to be just the pagoda. There are in fact several temples and extensive gardens. It's also not been recently renovated, so you get...More

Took a stop on a walk around town to look at the pagoda and the temple dedicated to Guanyin - the Goddess of Mercy. Statue of Buddha in the main courtyard, and thereafter the pagoda - open from bottom only - not for climbing. Traditional...More

We were here eight years ago and hadn't planned to return, but by chance our metro stop exited directly in front of the site, line 4, Beisita stop. There was no metro at that time. We were happy to revisit the site and the memories....More

See the review for Beisita. The garden and temple around the pagoda are very pleasant. You cannot enter the pagoda.

Only takes 15 minutes to walk around the whole site. Very interesting and well preserved. Across the street from the Silk museum, visit them as a pair.

By chance we entered this Pagoda. What a good experience. It looks a bit abandoned, but a the very end of the garden you will spot a tea house. Just enter, drink a tea (we asked for advice) and enjoy an hour of heaven's peace!...More

The North Pagoda is a little off the beaten track, which is probably why it is so free of crowds. About 10 mins walk from the Humble Administrators Garden, but the complete opposite - surrounded by hoarding so it looked closed, but it isnt. Walk...More

As was noted by several other reviewers, there was construction in progress on the south (entrance) side of the complex; to get in, you should follow the construction wall to the east side of the property where there is an entrance. I wasn't confident that...More

The entrance was behind roadworks hoarding at the entrance to a hutong, hard enough to find which is probably why this is such a tranquil spot unlike most of Suzhous gardens. Very old temple, lovely small secluded garden and absolutely worth visiting
