Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We just did the walking trails, not the glass bridge - a very pleasant afternoon in a lovely forest environment, suitable for all ages. The so-called wetland area is very pretty and there is a lovely pond near the tea drinking arbour. Pathways are enjoyably random. Some good views from the bus which takes you up to the park. Reasonable food court at the entrance, even got a decent coffee in Dicos! Worth a visit but don't expect a wilderness or silence!

Well organized. Nice walking pathways through the rainforest jungle. Lots of beautiful scenery and tropical plants. Valley views from the glass bridge.

This place is basically a Rainforest made into a themed tourist attraction. Largely designed and made for mainland tourists who have not seen or experienced a rain forest.

I myself come from the tropics and rain forest is basically what I grew up in -especially having been in the service spending a lot of time crawling around the rainforests of South East Asia. So, I was a bit sceptical about seeing anything interesting.

This was part of our tour's itinerary while at Sanya. From Sanya city, it was about 2hrs bus ride. Once arrived we were met by the park's own guide who brought us around. The guide was in chinese - not sure if they have an English speaking guide. The guide was quite friendly and informative to describe to us about the aboraginal history of the site.

The tour starts by taking a bus to the top of the hill. At the start, you can choose to do the zip line which i do recommen to zip across the rain forest as an experiance. For most folks, this may seem a boring tour of just plants - hence the main reason for my 3 stars as it probably wont be worth for most to take a bus ride all the way here to see a rain forest. But, for me, it was nice to be able to walk through a rain forest in this cooling weather. There are some tourist traps along the way like they out a parrot on your shoulder and you have to pay 20RMB for taking photos on your mobile - we did as rhe kids wanted to hold the parrots. We honestly did not mind as this is not uncommon in asia.

Overall its a nice place if you are a nature lover. probably the coolest way to see a rain forest. and a good place to take photos.

A crowded place with some entertainment facilities. There were a climbing wall, waterfall walking, zip-lining, paintball, etc. The entrance is already expensive, all mentioned activities are to be paid extra and also come by a price. In the end its more or less a park to walk on beaten tracks. However, most guides met were polite, affable and very child-friendly (that's the extra star). A big no-go though, the parrots in chains to handrails. Best don't take parrot pictures in order to save them from punishment (some showed a very disturbing behaviour). The petting zoo is also nothing more than a way too small prison.

With a complete lack of things to do in Sanya, any activity that helps break the boredom gets inflated by one star. Normally I'd rate this 3 stars but going to the park helped use one day of vacation so it becomes four stars. If you love Banyan trees this is the park you've been waiting for. Hint: Bring water!

Yanoda is a rainforest park. The visit can be as short as 3 hours or as long as six hours depending on how many trails you decide to hike. Hiking is enjoyable and easy. Wooden walkways ensure that the ground is always dry. Bridges, stones, hills, rivers and ponds keep the walk interesting. Avoiding the Chinese tour groups is important to enjoying the park. Tour guides carry megaphone speakers and shatter the silence with meaningless trivia so try to keep your distance. The trails are mapped and easily navigated. I booked a half day car with driver for 300RMB to take me here. The ride is 30 minutes from Haitang Bay. I did not see a line of empty taxis at the park waiting to take passengers home so i believe you'll need to keep your driver in the parking lot or arrange to be picked up at the end of the day.

After paying the entrance fee you will be constantly offered choices for additional paid services. The first is personal tour guides. Do not hire an English speaking guide. Their English language ability is so poor that you'll spend the afternoon in frustration trying to understand what the guide is saying. There are free earphone tours once you are farther inside the park - after passing through "gift shop row" - a long line of trinket shops staffed by employees who dance to the Yanoda recorded theme song once every hour. Other paid services include a zipline (50RMB), photos, chance to dress in traditional Chinese costumes, tea garden, and VIP golf cart services best suited for older people who might have difficulty walking uphill.

The earphone tours have three broad subjects: a simplistic propaganda-like explanation of rainforests and preserving rainforests, advertising the paid services in the park, and telling long winded Chinese legends about love, education, and doing good deeds. Bridges, trees, and streams in the park have deeper meanings hidden in long lost legends. Crossing them will bring you long life, happiness, and deep unending romantic love. The explanations are interspersed with Chinese classical flute and Richard Claderman style piano music. If you decide to keep the earphones in your pocket instead of listening to the trivia you won't be missing anything.

If this is your first experience with Chinese theme parks it will probably be the best since it assaults you the least. Although there are employees throughout the park waving the two fingered Yanoda peace sign and shouting "YA - NO - DA" as you walk by, you're basically free to hike the trails at your own pace.

Spoiler Alert: Yanoda is the Hainanese equivalent of Aloha in Hawaii.

Amazing super old tropical trees but the organization was very bad. Every group of 20 people has got a guide with a microfone amplifyed and there are many groups one near each other. This make the tour very very noisy and crowded. Moreover the tour organized with a bus took too long, we were in the park more than 9 hours! We could not go home before because the bus. Beside this, it was very nice. I waited for most of the groups to walk away and there we could enjoy almost alone the park.

Waste of time and money. Too many expectations and at the end the “breaking bridge is two tv screens, not even transparent make the experience and money spent a joke...a bad one.
The orchid garden...hilarious, two varieties of them and then different colors in some pots..not even naturally on trees and the area max 20 square meters.. zip line 150 yuans for nothing...
Waterfall, another joke...fish fed with milk - a fairy tale, simple fish food with water and then you PAY to feed them.. again..
The only positive thing, buffet lunch, with some standard options and all included, even drinks..
Apart from that, too many hours drive for NOTHING

I have traveled all throughout China and the Yanoda Rain Forest is by far one of China's greatest assets. To fully experience the adventure you need to take in the trekking water adventure of the rainforest. It was absolutely awesome. If I was able to rank this a 10 instead of a 5 it would be. Don't miss this. Be sure you have a change of clothes and a towel for afterwards. It's a must. Any rating less than a 5 on this one, the people must have been some where else.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. We took the bus up and walked down. The scenery, views, trees and plants were spectacular. The zip line across was lots of fun and a bit exciting.
Highly recommend a visit

We went here from our Club Med base in Sanya. We hired a car for the day with driver and went first to Yanoda and then in the afternoon to Nanshan Temple. You can do both in a day and if you have paid for the car anyway you might as well make the best use of it.
Yanoda is worth a visit, we went over the large glass platform, which made us feel a little dizzy and it was fun. Then we went on the zip-wire and that is great fun, especially this one is pretty long. Most zip-wires we've seen are not very long but this one spans a big valley, definitely worth doing. And make sure that after all that you also do some trekking in the rain forest, There are nice plants and flowers to see, lovely suspension bridges, etc. There's also a walk past many waterfalls but we were told that in October most of these carry little water, so we didn't take that route back to then entrance.
A nice experience overall, yes, a little pricey for China but still good value.
