The Tianhou temple in the Chiwan district of Shenzhen is one of the few major historical sites that you can visit in Shenzhen. Located near the Chiwan port (far western end of Shenzhen - at the end of Line 2 of the metro), the temple is easily accessible to the rest of Shenzhen. Whilst many of the buildings on the... More

Taking the MTR all the way to Chiwan just for this may not be worth your time, as there is nothing else to do and the way is quite long. But if you're already in the temple, do visit the museum as well. There are a few artifacts and that's it.

Tiny museum located in Tianhou temple in Chiwan. Some nice artifacts but very small. Since you'll already be in the temple you may as well look.

Visited this along with 2 other sights in chiwan. This is an ancient sacred temple and was worth the trip. The most authentic temple I've seen in shenzhen so far. The art work statues and carvings are brilliant. There is a wish pond full of koi karp which was very relaxing. It's 15rmb entry but well worth it. The museum... More

We visited the Tin Hau Temple but unfortunately we didn't have time to visit the Tin Hau museum. We knew very little about the history of the temple. However we were told that it is well known for its historical links with the last Emperor of Southern Song Dynasty. We got there by car and the entry fee was 15... More

Larger-sized and fairly historical temple in Chiwan. When I went it was undergoing renovations, which took away from the attraction. Still, it isn't bad and worth a look if you happen to be in Chiwan. Suggest combining it with a visit to the old fort (if you can find it) because there is no other reason to be in Chiwan... More

This place is a short walk from the Chiwan Mtr station (~5 mins walk). The entrance fee is 15 yuan. There's a main temple and incense offering area and some surrounding houses with mini exhibits and shopping ( selling porcelain). The main temple area is pretty nice but otherwise the exhibits were not very well maintained and the place was... More
