Enjoy the whole day there either place with kids on some small 'island' or "park"...or get snacks and local specialty on the street. visit the local vegetable market to see what local people sell or eat. and get local food there too.

We went there during Chinese New Year lantern festival, so most part of the park around the lake was lit with lanterns and it was magical! But even without lanterns, it is still a nice place to go to in Huizhou, especially if you like to walk around.

Visited during the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year ...this I'm told (and can verify) is the best time of the year to visit! Although it is in the middle of winter, the municipal workers decorate EVERY single tree and wall with lights, which are then illuminated at the cover of darkness. They also adorn the lake with "floats"... More

Due to the name of West Lake, a lot of people will compare the West Lake of Huizhou against West Lake of Hangzhou. The size of Huizhou West Lake is much smaller. However, it is still worthy to spend few hours in walking around Huizhou West Lake. The Huizhou West Lake is quiet and with less tourists. The walk is... More

Lots of natural beauty with the huge lake. Long walk but worth it. The temple was fantastic. Had a pottery museum too. Definatley worth a visit. I did a day trip from SZ. Lots of snack bars. Can rent a bike or a boat too

I spent an afternoon here, and enjoyed it very much. There are many aspects of this park I have yet to see. What I visited was spectacular. My visit was on a Sunday afternoon. Here are some high points: - The citizens of Huizhou love this park. It is filled with people. - The park has wide sidewalks leading one... More

We walked the total of 18 km to circumnavigate the lake and the peacefulness and the views are great. There are plenty of wayside stops and you can always grab a shuttle if you get tired. You can also hire bikes to ride it if you wish

We were staying in Kande hotel located in front of the lake. West lake is in the heart of city and it is the most famous scenic spots in Huizhou with some temples & restaurant around. We had a dinner in one of the several Hakka restaurants around the lake and walked back to our hotel. It was a lovely... More

West Lake covers a vast area. It is possible to walk the perimeter of the entire lake, and cross at several points. We started walking from the "East Gate", which I would say is actually at the southern tip of the lake. The initial views of the lake were nice, and then for a while the lake turned to a... More

I thought it was just a lake but there are a lot of things that can be visited in there. Here is more like a big park. The lake is in the middle of the park. The weather of that day was very strange. When we arrived, it was raining. When we bought an umbrella in the neighborhood, the rain... More
