Considering I used to live in DG and walked past this each and every day. It did become part of the background. During the day a brief walkthrough, but when the sun goes down it comes alive with activity. Families stroll through here play, and roller blade and generally have a good time.

will suffice. An evening stroll requires a bit longer. Whilst there is modern Chinese style architecture to view, there are far better places in DG to see and genuinely be inspired.

It's a very big open area where you'll also find Dongguan Exhibition Center & Dongguan Conference Hall. The Central Square was empty during the hot August day but it becomes alive at night with families, strollers, joggers, skaters, bikers, kite flyers, etc. You'll find a lot of restaurants and shops towards Hongfu West Rd.

Used to walk around this location with my wife a lot after dinner. We would walk to the square after getting dinner somewhere close by, and there are always couples, families, and kids running around. The atmosphere is good but it can get noisy from the traffic on Hongfu West Road. There's a library and park across the street, and... More

Dongguan Square is an amazing place to visit to marvel at all the wonderful architecture in and around the square. At the center of the square is a big red sculpture that overlooks a big pond type structure which at certain times emits lots of show fountains, unfortunately this wasn't running when i visited. The far end of the square... More

Loads of space, lots to see and plenty to do. Mainly concrete topped off with regimented flora. Some birds tweet frantically and many koi carp can be seen. It reminds me of a newer version of some larger squares found in Germany.
