This was a much larger museum than I would have expected with a large exhibit of pottery and bronze dating back 9 centuries. The English speaking guide was very informative and well worth the 200 RMB. The museum was free.

I visited this museum soon after arriving in Lanzhou. I took the #1 bus from NanGuanShiZi station on Qingyang Road. The museum is free, locals need to show their ID card, foreigners, a passport. Nice exhibits, not all have signs in English.

Also fossils if you like such things. They have a magnificent copper flying horse on display and dinosaurs but I am not sure that they are made of real bones.

An excellent museum to learn about the province of Gansu. Nice rendition of Chinese culture in the northwest of China. You will appreciate the history of Silk Road and significance of the statue of mother of all rivers.
